you know, that was discussed by emily, antiM, and myself. i thought it incredible that up until now things were as civil as they have been considering the history of people getting stressed and things getting escalated a few months before the event. so as bad as it is, its still a hell of an improvement, and i think it will get even better next year.

its taken some time and effort but the board has made some great improvements over the past year, and its due to everyone, no one in particular.

if you say it's getting better, i believe it. i don't know. i haven't been here for a year. that's why i was asking.

i know that many of the same years past ass-munchers are still here attacking newbies. i can't tell you how that pisses me off because i know eplaya is the front-line for many people asking, 'gee, what's this festival all about?'

well, burningman about fucking bringing your goggles and water and not making too much noise while i'm trying to sleep off my hangover or i'll come over there and disable your fucking sound system or artcar. because i've been to burnginman 3 or 5 or 8 or 20 years and that gives me the right to shit all over you.

NEXT! you ass-munchers (and you know who you are) have been doing this here ALL YEAR, and now you complain when i show up and respond in like-kind? boo hoo...

the only consolation is that i know most of you sit out the event. it's only here you get your 'revenge' (for whatever reasons).

and starting this topic by thowing a bunch of stuff yourself? seems there are much better ways to go about it without adding to or escalating the animosity you are speaking against.

who has the time and emotional energy? trying to go about it in the 'right way' would bore you and everyone else. can you imagine the length of discussion that would require? it's too much. and the points would soon be lost.

so it's not worth it on many levels.

probably next year i'll be back on eplaya with this special rant, again. does it make a difference? dunno. maybe to a couple people. maybe as a result one more person won't get ripped-on for asking an obvious question, and that person will choose to go to burningman, rather than getting the impression the event has too many snobs. maybe that person will be your neighbor on the playa who will be end up being your friend or lover. wouldn't that be nice?

or just keep being dicks.
