On one of the bad rain nights pre-opening last year, I was walking at about 3am and had snowflakes as a prelude to more rain. Yes, it was really cold. There are years when it is so hot during the day that all I can do is stay in the shade and keep spraying myself with water.

Did I say that after last year's cold snap, I ordered a propane heater to take this year. Probably won't ever have another opportunity to use it, but I certainly won't be caught off guard again. (It's not so much that the cold bothered me, but it was a combination of the cold and the rain those first few days (Saturday and Sunday) where there was just no place to warm up!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

My pretty much perfect solution is to bring 2 grades of poly long underwear tops and bottoms.. midweight and lightweight such as capilene grades 2 and 3. You can tell by 8-10pm whether it's gonna be a so so 50s night or a butt ass cold 40s maybe 30s night. Colder night, go grade 3. Warmer, grade 2. Always have thickish fleece zip up top with you for the deep playa late night walks.

Not hard.. after a couple of nights you'll get the hang of it. It's not the moon.
