Could be wetness on the playa this morning. Lots o f reports of snow up by lovelock and winnemucca. Radar looks good up that way too. The webcam at gerlach appears to be covered in snow or is that blow? Simon, are you up there? Reno also got a trace amount of snow this morning.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I don't want to know. Any male spider bastich I meet gets squished and dumped into the septic tank to live it's remaining life in hell.

I've heard a few scattered reports of rain here and there, but not anywhere near enough to have a significant impact on playa conditions. I think 2013's weather will be closer to what we saw in 2012 than what we experienced in 2011. We could see some even more extreme conditions (circa 2007 or before), time will tell.

The picture makes me sigh, but the playa surface leaves me really unsure of how firm it is. Those could be thick & solid, or they could break up to dust as soon as they start laying out the city. Could someone go down there & drive around on it for a while? For science? :D

Looking at the live tower cam at the moment and it looks like its raining.
