Tandy's Leather carries flask kits, the carving isn't too hard to do if you have a simple design. Although a plain flask and a chunk of leather will get you started.

DAB could you send that to me as well?

Sent.

Mine was made from the precut leather factory kit AntiM mentioned, however I am not all that happy with the quality of the flask it comes with so will probably start cutting my own when I run out of the kits.

I found a good flask company online, good prices, free engraving, super fast. Let me know if you're interested in the link.

My other flask came in leather. I've never used it because I worry about washing it out. I suppose I could just rinse and let the alcohol take care of everything else. (NTS: no sangria)

FoxFur, if my vehicle was right there, right now, I would welcome you to apply that to the side of it...any color you want. You bringing those to the Playa? I will bring a can-o-paint.

Bought sunscreen. Aimed for a Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide mineral sunscreen (based on some stuff I read) 'cause I have to say . . . I got too tan last year despite liberal application of spray sunscreen. Only my toes and the part in my hair can truly burn, but I don't need to @#$% around with sun damage.

Bought a flight home from Reno. At just under $60, it was the cheapest flight I've ever booked.

Just finished a dozen jars of Raspberry jam. Picked at 5pm, out of the canner now at 6:30 pm. I hear the lids staring to "ping" in the kitchen right now. I will be bringing a bunch of it.

Swoon.

My parents have a 1960s/70s "back-to-the-lander" streak; in addition to their large vegetable garden, they're foragers. My childhood was punctuated with wild raspberry, huckleberry, and thimbleberry jams. Mmm....

What what!! What brand did you get? I got little too tan last year as well *snickers* I hardly get sun burnt but it helps to have stronger sunscreen.

Don't. The dry sun makes me feel like my skin is on broil. Thats why I prefer to be fully covered during day.

Whar a coincidence, my gf just picked up our sunscreen for this year (it loses effectiveness ov time, don't re-use the stuff you had last year). A tube of something high-spf I can slather on my head, plus a couple cans of stuff that sprays on (the easier it is to apply, the more likely you are to re-apply throughout the day when you're out in the sun).

I'm something of an ethnic mutt, mostly stark-raving Irish but a few other sexy northern european countries in the mix. As if that didn't make me enough of a burn risk, I also shave my head. Silly as it sounds, the best way I've found to keep from getting painfully fried at Burning Man is to make sure I've got a light base first. For my pale complexion, that usually means spending hetting a light burn earlier in the summer back in defaultia (pinkish, not a 'rock lobster' painful burn). That will fade, but afterwards my skin seems more tolerant of Mr. Sun and any sunburns I do manage to get (I often forget to put on or re-apply sunblock) aren't as painful.

Aside from the gf's sunblock score, I picked up all the lumber I'll need for the deli counter today. :)

Picked up some US currency from the bank today - that involved dealing with a bank. It was annoying. Grrr.

My heritage is exclusively Native Californian. My people settled the ancient city of San Jose in the late 1960's. Our heritage allows us to tan very well. Sunscreen goes against our sacred principles. Last year was wonderful with no burning and crisping, just a perfect golden brown with a tinge of dust.

Last night I installed LED ropelights in the trailer. So bright! I need sunglasses to survive in there.
Also installed an undercounter double row kitchen light.
Today I will be permanently installing a Color changing RGB light bar over The Bed Of Awesomeness. The bar and controller are from IKEA. the voltage provided by the included transformer is 12volts DC. Installation consists of clipping the leads after the transformer and wiring it to the house battery. Since it already has a multi function wired remote there isn't even a need to install a switch. I highly recommend this setup to other trailer / RV owners as well as anyone running lights from batteries and /or solar arrays.

There must be a golden time -- sunset, perhaps? -- where the sun don't burn and the cold don't bite.
If that happens, I might -- might -- get down to a miniskirt and a tank top  . How scandalous that would be!

It took all week, but I made a wicked scrap skirt. It's built on an old, lacy, tiered black skirt. The "rags" are strips of fabric salvaged from beloved dresses of yesteryear. Black brocade with red cherry blossom; red brocade with black and gold Chinese characters, and dark red stretch velvet. Plus some black velvet from that dress I made the cape out of... just so it could give one last gift. It took forever, because all that fabric was moopy and needed to be hemmed up tight along all those many, many edges. And the seams in the skirt needed to be reinforced, too. But I'm super-happy with the results, and it goes great with some of my other evening costume pieces (black velvet armwarmers, red velvet vest, black velvet cape, red raw-silk shrug). I've given it an elastic/drawstring waist, so I'll be able to wear it over pants when it's cold, tights when it's cool, and bare legs when it's hot.

Thanks TG and Ratty for posting images of similar skirts for inspiration!

After seeing my shrink on my regular 3 month appointment, I got script for 90 days worth of meds. I get my bloodpressure meds from Medical on SSI Disability. I'm good to go on meds.

I got started looking for a home aid today. Called 7 answering machines. I can hire a person to help me for 26 hours a month. Chores, shopping, laundry, etc...Got a list of providers from the Public Authority ( Senior Services ). I want to be a good boss, I've never hired anyone before.
