Hip Hop, Breakbeats, Drum 'n Bass. I hope to hear as much out there as possible. And if not I'll play 'em myself!

Not even a mechano-electrical didgeridoo can beat Caruso on a hand-crank Gramophone.

That reminds me of that river journey in Fitzcarraldo.
Was that Puccini?
Marvelous.

I understand one of the brasilian chiefs offered to kill Kinski for Herzog during the film.

My very first mor virgin year on the playa-I woke up to...

IF god where one of us just a stranger on the bus...

as I was leaving that first year- Brother Iz was singing somewhere over the rainbow...

My whole VIRGIN year I sang I've GOT A GOLDEN TICKET...
'cause I was camped with oommpaloompas :D :D :D

first time I ever heard -what I call the windmill song was out in front of the windmills on the playa...

Jumped out of a velvet rabbit hole... to strip behind a screen to KID ROCK

Last year I danced on the front tall stage at the DEEP END to YOUR MY OBSESSION

My point to all these stories... I think its really great to hear all the Techno
everywhere ... when you hear something thats different on the Playa - You remember that moment...
ohhhhhhh mmmmmooooossssssttttt important the playa always gives you just what you Need to hear or feel at the TIME.

Like the Rainbow

Santa Lucia

Sul mare luccica
l'astro d'argento.
Placida è l'onda;
prospero è il vento.
Venite all'agile
Barchetta mia!
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia

Con questo zeffiro
così soave,
oh! com'è bello
star sulla nave!
Su passeggeri
venite via!
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia.

In' fra le tende
bandir la cena,
in una sera
così serena.
Chi non dimanda,
chi non desia;
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!

Mare sì placido,
vento sì caro,
scordar fa i triboli
al marinaro.
E va gridando
con allegria:
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!

O dolce Napoli,
O suol beato,
Ove sorridere,
Dove il creato,
Tu sei l'impero
Del armonia,
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia!

Or che tardate,
bella è la sera.
Spira un auretta
fresca e leggiera.
Venite all'agile
barchetta mia!
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia.

Or anything by Bessie Smith like 'Gimme a Pigfoot"
"Gimme a reefer and a gang of gin..."

Any time: Live and original (March 4, Environmental Encroachment, some guy and his guitar)

Night: The thumpy techno is the heartbeat of the playa, but I'll always pick Adrian's mashups and funk from Black Rock Roller Disco. If folks dance to it, I'll accept it.

Day: I'd love to give the techno a rest, and hear 60's-70's rock, Exotic instrumentals (Middle eastern, indian, et al), Blues, folk, 40's-70's country...

--------
And here is part of Captain Obvious' playa play list

Horse With No Name (I went through the desert...)
Dust in the Wind
Burning Down the House
Disco Inferno (Burn baby Burn)
(Hunka Hunka) Burning Love
I'm on Fire
Folsom City Blues (I shot a man in Reno....)
Burning Man is about being part of a community. Unfortunately, it's a community of people who can't get up before 1 p.m. - The Onion

The playa is filled with abundance, I've always found plenty of whatever I was interested in hearing at any given moment.

My advice would be to share the music that gives you the greatest joy. If that's the Arabic stuff, then go with that.
