Postcards from Black Rock City

Post by phil » Fri Jul 14, 2006 12:25 pm

I'm not going to bring a printer to BRC, but I can bring photos of past years' burns. Photojojo has some tips on how to turn a 4x6 or 5x7 print into a postcard and where to buy printed, peel-and-stick card stock you can stick a photo to for a sturdier card to mail internationally from BRC's post office. See

There are several sources for custom stamps. Louise and I have used the USPS's site to print postcard stamps showing the Man burning from prior years. There are some limitations (no nudity, for example), so someone at the USPS eyeball's your design, taking a day or two to get to it; plan ahead.

If you don't want to order from the USPS, see

The BRC post office has had custom cancellation stamps approved by the USPS in years past; whether this will be so this year or not, I can't say. We always mail a card to ourself, along with cards to friends. We take enough to give away cards and stamps, and stamps in particular make nice gifts, whether custom BM or not.
