Today's Jack Rabbit Speaks - playa conditions

Post by phil » Sat Aug 26, 2006 8:15 pm

Marian Goodall has sent out the last JRS, and she says there are serious ruts and divots in the playa from people who drove on it before it dried and got stuck. "There are HUGE divots and troughs from cars that drove in the mud," she says. Weather has been hot during the day (no temp given, though), no wind, chilly at night. (Expect that to change, of course.) She suggests coats, gloves, and scarves.

Tickets are $350 at the gate, and they cannot guarantee they'll have working credit card machines. Plan accordingly; no ATMs locally.

Lots of great information, so read it if you get the chance. Print it and take it with you - there's a link to a spread sheet with all the theme camps listed for those of you who like a checklist and things to check off.

Thank you for update. I wasn't even planning on bringing a coat/scarf/hat.
