This will be my 3rd Burn (missed last year). I remember considerable times of confusion wondering what/when/where stuff was happening. The first year I though "If I come back I'll get this figured out." The second year I concluded "No, there's considerable chaos, so try to make some plans, be laid back, and look forward to serendipity. This place is never going to work like Disneyland."
Anyway, I was looking at the nice info available on burningman.com about all the theme camps, and the schedule of events, and the descriptions of the events (strangely non-alphabetical). I can't remember exactly what's in the info paper they give you at the gate. And, I see that there are some events that have been changed/added since the paper went to press.
So I'm soliciting advice about what information, if any, to print out to take with me. (I'm not going to download the information to my laptop, and then use my laptop in the playa dust.)
P.S. Wouldn't it be nice if they'd set up (or, set up where I can find it) a listing of the additions and changes since the info went to press?
Anything I should copy? What info do we get at the gate?
Here's a link to a thread that has some good info -- a spreadsheet of all the theme camps, with locations, and a map showing this year's layout of Black Rock City

Start here - the on-line information that camps have submitted for publication in the "who, what, where, when guide".
http://www.burningman.com/calendar/yearround/month.php
Theme camps have been posting events as well in the area of the forum designated specific to 2008.
Of course - events, schedule of events, dates, times and hosts are subject to change without warning.
Just my humble opinion - The man (officially) burns Saturday evening - anything and everything else that occurs during the week - is known as an impromptu event. Let it happen. Chances are - no matter how many times you explore the playa for art - you will never see it all. As you walk about the city - and a camp is enticing to some degree to you - ask if they are having any special events, make note and plan to attend.
As you enter the city - you will be given a map and a guide, although these are helpful - they should not be considerred gospel as changes happen. Center camp might have a Bulliton Board listing daily events and special announcements.
Otherwise, toss out any plans and just let the week happen as is....
