Pepsi can stoves!!! You've found one of my secret gadget obsessions. Zenstoves is a super site. They are fun to make, and if you make one... look out, very addictive activity, since they are so easy, and you tend to want to make improvements. Careful though, I've made a few leaky ones that really were outright fireballs. TEST OUTSIDE in firesafe area in dark shade, dark, or getting dark. Alcohol burns nearly invisible in the daylight, and you can't see if it is working. I made one with holes on the side that also serves as the pot riser. JB weld is great for these. this fellow Sgt. Rock has lots of info on alcohol stoves http://hikinghq.net/ As well as a lot of good camping information, especially ultralight backpacking. My first stove, I shopped for large and small cans, but I found with enough jb weld and a 12 pack of diet pepsi, I can make fine stoves. I was thinking of trying one from that energy drink that looks like it comes in a presurized gas cannister?

I got a surplus swedish kit that had a trangia stove in it for around 6 bucks. I like it because it is quiet. It isn't super fast, but it boils water for tea, and heats soup great. If I want to take soup or tea to the neighbors, the lid and carry handle are very convenient.
http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/pro ... t-3844.cfm The price has gone up, but it was on a lot of surplus store sites a few years back. It was a good deal at the time for the stove itself, and the mess kit part was a nice bonus.

please post how your stoves turn out for you.

The trailer we used is the BM equipment trailer(hold them boobies!)
Last yr we turned the "emptied" trailer on the playa into a stage....

In case you wanna have movie night in yer dome (or tent).

http://lumenlab.com/wiki/index.php/DIY_Projector_Guide
(starting point)

http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
(second starting point and place for advanced projects, has calculators for focal lens placement etc)

I recommend the small 7 inch LCD versions for tent use and 15 inch minimum LCD for the large dome projection.

Just remember that the higher the quality of the LCD display the better your image will be. Also higher wattage HID bulbs tend to generate ALOT more heat so you may want to use more than one fan. I use 3 high quality 120mm fans and can project for 24 hours without a burned out bulb.

They now have a kit prepackaged for under 400 that only needs the enclosure, lcd, and lexan/glass.

I get the electrical parts elsewhere and only use lumenlab for the lenses. I wind up spending alot less that way.
