You're young, right?

I used to be the same way... wait a few years... I didn't start getting hangovers until I was in my 30s. Now I drink less booze and more water and am MUCH more careful than I used to be about eating properly, etc., and I get KILLER ones.

Seriously, enjoy the pre-hangover years while you're in 'em.

I bought a new (to me) tent setup through craigslist this weekend. It is 3 dome tents that connect together and remind me of a hamster trail. So I call them the hamster trail tents. I will be setting them up this week to make sure I have everything I need and that they will do the job on the playa. If they only work 1/2 as well as they currently do in my imagination I will be pleased. :P

Thats pretty cool!
I've seen those tents on line. I always thought that it would be nice to have them in a row, such that as you go from tent to tent, it gets a little less dusty.
Use the first one for getting undressed and taking of shoes, then crawl to the next one where you change, then finally in the last one is where the bed is.

That is the plan. Hopefully by the time I get to the bed tent there will be minimal dust and maximum comfort.

So went and got my hiking bag today to take all my stuff on the train. was $179 got it for $79. also got a 0-5F sleeping bag for $15. Was normally $50-$65. I'd say I did a damn good job. A bit overkill on the 0-5 but who know where I may go camping someday.

Good deal! If it's a good maker, it might last you quite a while. Keep the receipt somewhere safe. Some backpack makers/luggage stores have free warranties or repairs.

True! I recommend putting a light blanket and a flat sheet inside it, before you roll it up. Maximum options. Sometimes I sleep on top of my comforter with the blanket over me, or shove it all away and just sleep under the sheet.

. . . Yesterday I bought an interesting belt that I'm going to loop fabric into. Playa skirt!

I am bringing my down comforter with me. It like my grown up blankie haha. Along with a fitted and top sheet(keep dust off my stuff) The bag is a hi-tec tioga 80/ I have seen them onine for $35 but not for sale as they are discontinued, But new yeah. I did find the old tag when looking through it a bit. It is from Big 5 and was $119 orginally ( I buy my stuff from a place who just buys trucks with no idea what is in them then sells the stuff for a discount) So ehh $40 off. Not bad.

I think with the sleeping bag I prob wont zip it up. Im fat and it is tight. haha. I feel like a wiener schnitzel in it. :D

I found the coolest little hanging lanterns:
led lamp.jpg
Each one holds a color-changing LED tea light on a TIMER, so, it turns itself on and off and on and off again! So handy to have your tent lit inside when you come back at night. 8) I have some xmas-candle shaped ones already, but, these will hang up! 30% off so I bought 2 sets.

I found my LIT in a seldom used e-mail account, I did not know I had to put in a password every time to check mail, I thought it came up automatically. Now I know my confirmation letter will show up the same place as my award letter. :D

Started to drag the carport out for field testing in the yard. Frickin' saw a tear in the roof, hmm, gorilla tape, duct tape or aluminum tape. Does anyone have experience taping a 3 inch tear in a costco carport roof panel?

Yesterday was all about blinky testing. Checked to make sure everything still works and checked my inventory of assorted watch batteries.
I did the first run through of the camping gear for this year. We're taking our "warm up" trip this weekend to a favorite local spot.

Today; theme camp fundraiser planning!

Today's haul:

* 2 pairs flip-flops, for around camp
* Toothbrushes
* Silicone earplugs
* Pedialyte powder (to be followed by Pedialyte liquid at a later date)
* 2 bottles preservative-free tears
* Contact lense cases
* Lotion
* 2 pretty, wide multi-purpose scarves and, uh . . . hair flowers. :shock: Necessary to my survival, I assure you.

rethought a recycle bin item... small powdered coffee creamer container. Lid screws off entirely, and also dispenser hatch snaps down securely, so I thought it would be better than a zip lock for sugar, or powdered milk. Sometimes the scores are byproducts of procrastination.

We use one in our backyard and when a branch fell through it we repaired it with white duct tape on both sides of the cover. It held up for the Summer with no problem. We cleaned up the entire area with rubbing alcohol before taping it.

I'm not sure how that would work out on the playa, but it survived the hurricane we had here during the burn last year.

We found out that ballast is the key to using easy ups in the wind. Wind devils or whatever those small twisters are called, stole one of our shade canopies at Coachella that was double staked at each corner with 18" stakes and guy lines on each corner. This twister sort of gust just grabbed it, (leaving the other 3 canopies untouched entirely!!!) tossed it in the air, did some amazing maneuvers and then crashed it down on the Uhaul rental pick up's hood:-( Ruined the canopy of course and put a good sized dent in the pick up hood and right front fender. No Bueno! Then we took the 2 1/2 gallon water jugs we brought (approx 20 lbs each) and zip tied them with 3 zip ties each on each corner of each remaining canopy. No issues with the wind after that except for a couple of the neighbors canopies missing us by inches. Ballast along with the rebar stakes seem to be a good answer to the wind. We will remember this for the playa and I am making custom solar lighted ballast weights for our pop ups and carport structure for the burn.

Finally ordered my custom PCBs for the full body lightsuit v2.0. Going for a grand total of 1920 LEDs in 8 channels.. fully sequenced up the arms and legs.. plus possible sound reactivity. :twisted:
