For what it's worth, if I had to choose between glowsticks and less lighting on my bike I'd go with less lighting every single time. Lighting your spokes isn't mandatory (most of us don't), if poverty was the real issue you just wouldn't have spent the couple bucks on waste chemicals and made do with a simple bike light (which you need to have anyway). It's your choice, of course.

Just bought/cut/bent/painted 6 more 32" rebars. I think extra rebar might be in order this year....just sayin'.

I just ordered motion activated LED lights that screw on to the valve stem of the bike. 4 for $15 deal.

Hey mbg, you might find this useful if you don't already have something in mind for that camo-netting!
Nice, Piehole!

Mgb might even know about those kits already, but I've never seen one before, and I love new info like this. (My neighbor in 2008 had some wonderfully simple camp netting going on, and although I have killer shade now, I still envy his set-up, too.)
We get these things in a popular army navy surplus store in Portland. We used them on our shade canopy made out of a parachute and they work great!

Love this. My trike is safety orange (also blacklight sensitive). Got info on the little blacklights you're using? I have some little LEDs around somewhere but they aren't very punchy.

I have honey mustard on sweet potato fries... for me, ketchup on fries is poison sauce on poison sticks. (Sweet potatoes are not really potatoes).

Larry is outside repacking the ball bearings on the Rhoadescar. He's had to do it on the playa, so he figures now would be a good time.

We have something similar and saw them using the exact same one on NCI. The kids thought it was funny. What ever you do, don't bring it into the portapotty! That is just too disgusting to get over:-(

AntiM, if you've not tried it (and can eat avocados) try the sweet potato fries in guacamole.

Yesterday we (turtleburp and bumble) made the laminates for the BDC “ID your gear” cards - 94 of them. And we finished making "guess the eplayan quote” bits of paper for the meet and greet quote game.

We drank far too much (well I did) so my item for the day is “recover”, and tinker with my play lists for my long drive.

Didn't accomplish too much today, other than getting some sun and walking around barefoot to try and get my skin toughened up a bit.

Today I cut ten more lengths of conduit for my dome home on the playa. I flattened the ends and will be drilling the holes in a few days. Then I'll put it together and start on the cover.

Woohoo, TinkerMom, congrats!

Some of the stuff I ordered in the last week showed up yesterday: got my inks for the rubber stamps I'll be making, some more silk screening supplies, and a pair of pants. Our electric assist motor kits for the trikes also finally arrived, but were missing the chargers. Hopefully we'll get that sorted out next week.

awesome awesome AWESOME! I love hearing these things. we have 2 parachutes and a camo netting that we're gonna rig up with this support system and maybe another one. we were originally thinking monkey hut but this just seems like it's going to give us just the amount of shade we need for the 6-8 people in our camp.

Picked up a pair of new vice grips at a big box home improvement store. My last pair went missing after getting home. My sweetie and I are trying to figure out which color of EL wire to order for our tails. I want purple, he says blue is brighter... I don't want to match our friends (see my profile pic).
