Your texted picture of my ticket last night was the best cheer up ever! I can't wait! I organized my clothing and am picking up my luggage and various gear from my parent's house this weekend where it is in storage. Next week is shopping for new fishnets. I have managed to trash all of mine in the last year.

awesome awesome AWESOME! I love hearing these things. we have 2 parachutes and a camo netting that we're gonna rig up with this support system and maybe another one. we were originally thinking monkey hut but this just seems like it's going to give us just the amount of shade we need for the 6-8 people in our camp.

Definitely more area covered than a monkey hut but make sure to vent, vent, vent the parachute or it will act just like a parachute is supposed to act and that is not good when you want it to stay in one place in the wind:-) We used high temp glue guns and glued around every vent so it would not tear or moop. Seems to work pretty good here in the windy gorge!

The Great Tape Experiment was a success! After three weeks in the SoCal sun and heat, my painter's tape didn't leave any residue on the car upon removal. So, the tape gets a green light for decorating Ye Old Boxe Trucke.

Also, got a new backpack + hydration unit with lots of space for gear. Didn't come with a bladder but the one from my other camel pack (with zero cargo space) fits fine.

Sorry, folks, if you're not already doing something every day to get ready for the Burn, you are not truly living it. Today alone, I waged a battle with a mouse who thought he was going to join me. No pets on the Playa, snap! I s[ray painted the clothes rack for the Bizarre Bazaar. I worked on gifties. I stripped the beds in the motorhome and washed all the linens. I stocked up on batteries and loaded batteries into my el wire and battery powered lights. and I sewed on the dragon skin. Day's not over yet. Mama

Just remember to cover the logo on those items, Foxfur. Or warp them to say Spun.

I am sooo doomed. 9 days til I fly out.... 7 days of work. Something's gotta give!

Anyway, my item for the day is checking my tent has all its bits and packing my main bag.

Yesterday I bought Foxfur a massive jar of vegemite 8) and I bought a large container of zipties for camp ID tags that we made.

lost tent poles... upended house... can’t find them. Luckily I have a second tent with the same tent poles!

Lesson one - go and check your tent bag to make sure you have all the poles!

... and the tent! Weekend before last, we went camping with a couple of newbies. When they arrived, they discovered that their tent box contained only the rainfly and poles, the tent having been put away separately. Fortunately, it wasn't Burning Man or the backcountry, so they were able to drive to the next town for a new one.

Up at four, making art while the coffee perked. May as well make use of the early morning waking insomnia.

You and me both, meleniejane. Some people do wonderful preparation, really impressive ready for anything stuff. Others...learn to...(*makes vague circles in air with hands*)...improvise... I comfort myself with the thought that I liek things open ended. Not that will keep the rain off, if that's what it comes to.

Covered the RV vent I installed on my trailer with silver tape, and painted the louvres with silver paint to cut down how much light it lets in:

On the weekend:

Turkey chili. Frosted shredded wheat. 1 packet of beef jerky to taste-test, before I do a larger purchase.

Random toiletries. Drawstring trashbags. Baby wipes.

Nice work, MelodiousDirge, that space looks awesome!

Got a couple more art supplies ordered, and hammered away at some design stuff I'm tinkering with. Packages arrived as well, with the pants and shirts I ordered last week. The pants will need a little alteration, but the shirts are good to go.

Scheduled a root canal. Been putting it off, but figured I better do it. I'd hate for the tooth to go "hot" (painful) while I'm there.

Yikes! Yeah, good call VultureChow.

I've had one root canal, and it honestly wasn't bad at all (it was way better than the earlier crown on the same tooth). They gave me a drug called Halcyon, which felt like two glasses of wine, only hazier in terms of memory (which is why they give it out). Good stuff.
