Reminds me of the weather in 2000. Cold during the days (check out our website www.barbiedeathcamp.com and the picture links for 2000), had to wear long pants and sweat shirts even mid-afternoon. Rained every damn day (so hard Friday night that the entire city shut down for five hours) and it was too cold to even watch Critical Tits. If we have a repeat of that, I feel sorry for the people in tents.

My only reason for starting the thread was to just get a general idea of how easy/hard it would be to ride a bike in the Playa as last year was my first year and I only rode once.
I see now the Playa is an ever changing organism that cannot be predicted well enough to answer my question.
K thx bai :P

I may be crazy but at least I'm not sane.

Well. I am not sure how you qualify him as a gentleman? I ask an honest question and rather than give an answer, he tells me that my name is stupid, on or off the playa. Last year he had nothing but shitty things to say when I was just looking for some guidance. He seems like a deep, cavernous asshole to me. Maybe I just don't know him. I suspect I don't want to. Enough of this though huh? We have outstanding times just days away!theCryptofishist wrote:You have clearly never met the gentleman.Pryde wrote:Oneeyeddick. high sixties, low seventies... isn't this at or above what your average home indoor temperature is during the winter? t-shirt comfy wouldn't you say?C.f.M. wrote:Shit, the daily highs = that low???
I'll have to pack some extra clothes...I had night-time ready to go, but planned outfits for the heat of last year.

for me the low 70's is a heatwave. I'm really looking forward to these temperatures being true.

You really hurt my feelings there. Why did you have to make it so personal? Have I directly called you names or insulted you?mindovermanner wrote:token, your comments are always worthless. keep em up. we revel in your stupidity. i have a strong urge you've never even been to the playa. all people want to know is whether the playa is hard or soft. pretty simple. and token, it hasn't been at all the same over the last ten years, but how would you know that, ridiculing yourself from behind a laptop.
I simply wrote the truth and you bitch me out because its not what you want to hear?
You my dear anonymous poster whom no one knows out here are a mean, nasty, spiteful, hurtful, bad person.
I hope you talk the same way to your mother.
Well you are just as much of a mean frustrated doucher as the other dipshit that called me names.Pryde wrote:Tokens answer is not an answer at all. I spend so much time on eplaya, it's more fun answering in a fun way than answering the same questions 18 bajillion times.
When you find that sand bar in the open Playa, think of me as you sail over the handle bars towards the gentle embrace of the faceplant.

You too Figjam, you are a bad, bad person.
Made me drill countless screwd up holes in a half dozen buckets till I go the damn swamp bucket working, stalling my beer fermentation with it and all the lite cuts and scrapes on my knuckles!
And now I don't even get to use it on the stinking Playa kuz it's gonna be too cold.
And damn Junglesmacks, he was the one who first said it was going to be cold. Him and his stupid AccuWeather. He made it cold I tell you and he is a really bad person.

Conditions this evening are very balmy. It is a warm evening. The playa is in fairly rough shape. It looks like someone used the space where the city is for doing donuts all winter. Lots of old ruts that have obviously been rained on since they were made but they are all over the place in the "early" side of the city. I haven't been over past 6:00 yet so I can't say what conditions are over on the "late" side.
Weather is expected to change starting tomorrow. Reno radio was calling for winds around 20 MPH tomorrow with gusts to 40 MPH. That is consistent with what generally happens when the weather changes out here.
But it is an absolutely beautiful night tonight.

Ha ha, I keep my house 80-86 during the summer (when it's 100+ and 100+ full-on humidity), so the temps sound AWESOME, just not what I"d planned my outfits around. I'm fine with putting on more clothes - prefer it, really - just hadn't prepared for it.Elorrum wrote:high sixties, low seventies... isn't this at or above what your average home indoor temperature is during the winter? t-shirt comfy wouldn't you say?C.f.M. wrote:Shit, the daily highs = that low???

Shhh we all know Accuweather is completely FOS. 5 years ago it rained non stop on my pity parade when forecast was for only a light sprinkle for an hour and it fully down poured for TWO! That's it. It's banned now from my collective consciousness and has been officially discredited. Hmpf.

..and fear not, my fine fellow smurfs.. according to FOS Accuweather (which.. you know.. called this cold front to the exact day 10 days ago..).. it looks like it should be clearing out by midweek and back to more stable and somewhat normal conditions..

Depends what day you're getting there. My magic 8 ball bones are saying that the only rain chance is Monday-ish as the front passes.. and even then it will be like 30-40%.C.f.M. wrote:Should I toss in my wellies? Seriously, hippies, should I?
If you have the room, then sure why not.. but don't freak if you can't. You'll be fine. Bring a few crystals with you and the golden aura will surely protect you.
