Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
Huzzah! I just got my dmv pre-registration acceptance letter. I can get my vehicle inspected by the Hotties now. Now all I need is a low income ticket award letter.

My trike has arrived!
Not sure wether to attempt to assemble or have bike shop put it together. I suppose taking it out of the boxes would be a start...

Lucky, you could always take it to the bike shop and ask that you do the actual assembly with their managerial oversight. That way you learn to do it yourself but also get results without too much frustration.

Lucky,
If your trike is a Schwinn Meridiann, the directions are clear and assembly will be easy.
I purchased my Schwinn on line and I wondered if I was going to have a bike shop put it together.
As it turned out, I only needed a metric wrench set and a metric hex head set, Phillips screw driver and it only took me a couple of hours (with some breaks for my aching back in between).

Fixed the regulator on my trailer propane. Very little coming out. Now just right. Now to find out why my battery is dead even though it was fully charged a few days ago.

Meat hunter, no it's a worksman.
BoyScoutGirl, I may contact the Kiwanis bike group. They do have a workshop set up for people to work on/learn about bikes. I've just had shitty luck with putting bikes together...

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
Lucky,
I understand that Worksman makes a fine trike.
I added a front wheel electric drive to my Schwinn trike. Do you intend to add an electric drive to your trike?
In stead of driving my ATV around the farm each day, since last October I have been using my trike for most chores. When I added my electric kit in January, it has made all the difference. I am actually having fun now.
I put around 8 miles a day on my trike. I still peddle (sort of) and use the electric drive to assist and it really makes a difference; especially when on the grass and pulling a load.

Lucky! so happy you've come over to the trike side. It's a great soft terrain, multi-purpose burning man vehicle, and no, you don't have to ride it to the grocery store with a little dog in the back basket. (unless you want to.)
I ordered 4 small subwoofer speakers and a port tube plus a music sensitive waterproof led strip (light strip) kit, for my trike. I want more boom boom boom! I've committed to learning to cut a well squared piece of plywood, or mdf (medium density fiberboard, not our dear friend) with a circular saw before I die. eh.

Ordered some new window dust screen material. I'm hoping they do a better job at catching dust but letting air flow into our tiny trailer than the basic heater filters I used last time.

Love the vials! I was thinking of bringing some vials out too but hadn't thought of the pretty, colorful cords and the labels!!! Love it! I may have to improve my plan, or toss it and hope to run into you and get one of yours! haha

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
I got all of the rigging onto my rebar. A combo of emt hangers and o-rings will provide an anchor point. I used rubber insulated clamps as a liner under the emt hangers for better fitting/gripping. Found an old garden hose that fit over the ends to help snug the solar lights and/or cushion the pvc from the sharp edges. Picked up a fire wood tote at an estate sale to carry the rebar in.
Also got my solar lights set up in an easy-to-deal-with way to stick outside and test.
I got a good deal done on my bicycle today too. It's not ready for it's close up yet - will post a pic to bike porn when it is finished!

I like the firewood tote idea, sadie. Seems like it would be quite durable.

I just finished a green and black tutu, and bought the material for a faux fur vest and two kilts.
Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
Yay, I've actually been doing something everyday for Burning Man (though not posting).
In the last few days... I decided it would be fun to dress as a super hero one day. The next day I went to a yard sale and got a batman tee shirt (and a unicorn and some jingle bells all for just a dollar!) I'll cut up the tee, pair it with a yellow tutu, make a mask and boom, Batman!
I made a black tutu.
Started making pasties this evening (my first effort, kind of excited).
Organized my crafting supplies (have been finding tons of awesome stuff at yard sales). I'm officially in GO mode! Eeeeeee!

Finished off the collar and front placket of my caftan with brocade ribbon last night. Looking very silk road-ish, if I say it myself. On to the hat!

Picked this up today!!! Don't judge her too harshly, she's a work in progress. Good news is she's pretty mechanically sound. Just needs some TLC.

Found a great seat for the mutant trike.. It was on a exercise machine.. Some kind of bucking bull thing.. Good Will wanted 15$ for the whole thing.. The seat would cost a good $40.. Now I have a seat, some channel iron and scrape metal..

Thanks guys. We love it. Best part about it is that it gets pretty good gas mileage for an rv. Its an 1985 toyota, and we've heard they have a bit of a following. I'm just so excited about the potential it has!
