Just split a nail.. All the way from front to back.. Cleaned my hands and applied super glue.. It will repair as it grows out..
Super glue in the first aid kit.. You can clean a cut and super glue it closed.. As you loose skin naturally the glue will flak off.. The cut will disappear...

Dunno how bad it is,UnJohn, but if it split clear through and top to bottom then it may have a tough time healing with all the flexing on the playa. An artificial nail bonded on the top for a while may help stabilize and protect the split even more.

The glue formed a nail on the top of the damaged one..
