I've been working hard for months now... that's part of why I enjoy the years I go to Hawaii instead.
Today's agenda, pull the big flatbed trailer over to the shop, yank the wheels off it and look at/fix all the brakes. Then start cutting and modifying the right rear corner of my camper so it will fit my newer truck. For some stupid reason, Ford Chevy and Dodge all narrowed up their truck tailgate width in the '90s. Everything else about the new ones is bigger, better, more. Except what physically fits into them!!

OK that's two things.

Yup, the top of the bed is narrower.

I had to redesign my cactus rack to fit the 97"!!!

The tail gates on all American pickups used to be 65" wide. Now they are about 60".
It's one of the reasons I put off getting a newer truck as long as I could.
All the computer bullshit is the other reason.
But I am enjoying the fancy interior and gobs of Cummins torque!

Finished my first day of work at my new job. Between the time when they told me they were going to hire me, and me actually signing the contract, I told them I need some time off. I only took 4 days as it's unpaid, BUT I get to go to Burning Man! I am taking a memorial for my dad to temple so staying till Monday was more important than arriving early.

I am happy to report I think I will be happy here for a while! So glad to not have to commute over 17! Also made an appointment for my van to get smogged so I can register it before the 29th of August...

I set up the skeleton of my MH and the new tent under it. It fits fine, tomorrow I'll dig out the tarps and see if the shade flap will suffice or whether I need to add ribs to do a double long.

Determined the cross bars off the Subaru will not fit on the Jetta roof rack. With that known I'll have to either figure out a way to get the bike up there without or ask my neighbor the mechanic to see if he can scrounge up a set at his junk yard connections.

Brought a pair of neon yellow shorts at the thrift for $3.

I set off in 27 days....aw fuck! What am I doing here?

I did this to one cooler, for drink-ice...

Well, it actually was supposedly a hand-held lemon/lime juicer, but it doesn't work for that very well.
When the ice bits sit a while they tend to freeze together, making the ladle ineffective, so it's now an official Ice Breaker, and works perfectly for that!

I've used this setup 3 or 4 times... it's Perfect!

Finished stitching and gluing the last of the rainbow spangles on my bra....bought baby wipes and more sunscreen...sealed a dust leak in an RV cabinet.

Little piles of stuff are occurring everywhere...all the things!

I've done two month camping trips on remote Baja beaches that needed less prep...

Located my black bus tray and fitted a mesh lid on it. Tied fresh strips of cotton to wick away the water. Pond done. Last year I had my outfits packaged in June. I've yet to look in that room.

I didn't do anything for the last few days. My new job has had me TIRED when I get home. I do plan on going through clothes tomorrow and packing costumes. Also got to look at the bike. I want to do a pvc flag pole thing. Need to research how to get it on the back tire thingie. Light up would be fab!

I would just roll my bike into Ace hardware and say, "Excuse me. Could someone help me put a PVC, light-up pole on my back tire thingy"? Of course a clown costume might help. Works for me.

I haven't been able to smile since Elliot said he's been evacuated. I know other people in Lower lake also.
