Post by luce555 » Mon Oct 11, 2004 2:56 am

I have heard rumour that there will be a Burning Man festival in Spain in 2005 - can anyone verify this/give dates??

I doubt it.

Not until we trademark "Descompresión".

Last summer there was a small gathering of about 40 people not far to the north of Barcelona. There seems to be an ambitious push to return to the same area sometime next summer. Probably the best thing to do is to subscribe to the Euroburner list where first word on planning and such will appear before trickling over to this board. Suggest you subscribe to the digest version.

It is as official as it gets...

I helped organise the event and I'm the European Liaison person. Action Grlll and a few other members of staff will hopefully join us next year.

P.S. The London Decompression is on the 11th of December and we've got people flying in from all over the planet!

Cantabria or Bust

Post by HoloDome » Sat Dec 04, 2004 9:10 pm

I lived in Santander (capital of Cantabria) for several years and think a BM there would add to the already amazing summer festival circuit. The festivals start near Portugal and travel through the north for 3 months. I traveled to every little town (Comillas, Liencres, Castro) with a backpack, tent, and 10 friends....it was the best experience of my life. Not to mention most of the europeans go to northern spain during the summer- best weather, beautiful ocean views, and architectural and historic landmarks.
If BM SPain happens, keep me posted. I want to move back there, live in a cottage, paint, hike and eat tortilla de patata with my fellow Burners.

Love,
me

Hey there,

it is happening, we're out to Spain in January to start putting things together. It will be held at a different location next year and we have an awesome team working on it already.

The event is now named "Nowhere" and it is a fully fledged European event. The organising team is from 7 countries and most of the stuff used for Nowhere 2K4 is held in storage in Spain - guess we're signed up for this one, eh?

Any assistance is always appreciated, sign up to the Playadust list (European Burning Man discussion list) at http://www.euroburners.org and dial yourself in to the action.

See you at Nowhere 2K5!
