THE ROAD TO BURNING MAN....
THE ROAD TO BURNING MAN....
I do not always agree with everything that John "Halcyon" Styn espouses. But, I do agree with him when he says that Burning Man is not an event.
Instead Burning Man is a process that begins the moment that you make the conscious decision to attend.

But his hair isn't pink anymore. I almost didn't recognize him.

Ugh. That guy is intensely annoying and almost always "doing it wrong".

I agree. In my opinion, most all of his video's are not worth watching.
However, he might be close to being almost right on this one.

Re: THE ROAD TO BURNING MAN....
This being the only video of his I have seen... I have to agree with him. Deciding to go to Burning man was just the beginning of the journey. I have learned a lot and done a lot. I have had so much fun preparing I only hope the event holds up to it.

He's very enthusiastic and well-meaning.
A cheer leader.
And he doesn't steer folks wrong, he does get it.
He runs an awesome camp, and he takes *it* out into the default.
Pinkly.

John is a good guy.
He means well and does help a lot of people.
He is a true burner in every sense of the word.
He doesn't really like the "Pink Jesus" reference.

None of the goodness accolades preclude the annoying factor.
He is OK in small doses, but if you spend any amount of time in LA, where half the burning man crowd is like that, the whole "life coach" self help Forum stuff gets very shake-weighty.

This is an awesome descriptor in this context, bravo. Who doesn't love a good shake weight?Token wrote: stuff gets very shake-weighty.
