Need help,dear community

Post by thekayf » Wed Jul 25, 2018 11:38 am

Hello! In advance I'm sorry for my English, I'm using Google translator. I dreamed for a long time and this year I am going to visit this event for the first time. I would like to know how I can get to Black Rock? The Internet has a lot of information, but they are not specific. What kind of city is Reno and how to get to it from Los Angeles? Where it is better to make purchases? And how to rent a place to stay at the event itself? There are 7 of us. Thank you in advance for all your answers and any help! Peace friends!

I’ve never seen Google translator put out English that clean.

That is definitely some impressive Google translation.

I think maybe you should sell your tickets now and plan and research for next year. If the seven (7) of you can't figure out how to get from Los Angeles to Reno or BRC using maps and information from the internet and expect that you're going to find a place to "rent" in BRC then you're not ready.

Get your money back and come back when you are.

You do not rent a place to stay at Burning Man.
It’s an empty hot dry desert and you are expected to take care of your own self.
It is hard.
If you can’t or don’t want to do that, Burning Man is not a place for you.

The internet an only tell you what you ask for if you ask for it phrased properly.

There are things such as the Burner Express bus, or renting a vehicle or two, in order to get to BRC. As others have pointed out, you cannot rent a place to stay, and renting an RV for seven will be difficult this late in the year. Many of us bring tents and shade to go over them. There are no communal kitchens or showers. If you do not bring it, you do not have it, except for ice.

Read the Survival Guide and the First Timer's Guide. All seven of you must read these.

The Kay F, Read all of the info that AntiM gave you. After you read everything decide if you want to come this year. It's not easy. People that go to Burning Man are self reliant. That means they do research. They work hard and figure out problems. After you done these things we will help you with the rest.

At Burning Man you must bring everything with you. It's hot as 100+ degrees in the day and cold as 30 degrees at night. The list of supplies is long. It's very late in the year to start getting ready.

You can NOT buy food or water after you arrive. Nothing is for sale there.

The ONLY thing for sale is ice.

And bring socks.

Lots and lots of socks.

Two pair clean socks per person every day. After wearing them for half day, replace wit new pair and burn the old socks.

9 days is 18 pair of socks per person.

7 people so 126 pairs of clean socks.

Bring extra socks to share and gift.
