PlayaEvents & Art Spreadsheet

Post by metal450 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 1:13 pm

Hey all,

A few years back, I developed a web script to export the whole list of PlayaEvents as an Excel spreadsheet for easier reading/sorting/printing. I've been sharing it on a few of the BM Facebook groups...but it just occurred to me that I should probably post it here too. In addition to the data pulled from the official BMorg PlayaEvents page, it also includes art installations & locations (my datasource for locations is the Unofficial Burner Map).

Tip: I like to go through & make a trimmed-down list of stuff I'm interested in, sort by "type," then the "date" columns. That groups all the food in one section, parties in another, art in another, etc – and within each section you can glance down the current day's column to see what's happening. i.e. when you're hungry, just flip to the food section!

Enjoy :)

The good shit usually isn’t on those lists.

Feel free not to use it if that's ur opinion, but from what I can see, people have taken the time to contribute tons of extremely good shit to these lists. I've had some amazing experiences that I knew about solely because I spent a few minutes searching it for terms of personal interest.

It takes a lot of time to manually do all the formatting. For those who want the latest data, they can always use the actual exporter to get up-to-the-minute lists. Otherwise, I'll provide a final formatted version shortly before the event.
