It would have been black with a message on the bottom that said the following:
Greetings my name is _______
I am a native Black Rock Duck and I flock to the playa every year for the summer to play with burners. Please take me with you and take pictures on my adventures at Burning man and even back to your home. You can email the pictures or post a link to mikeondeck@(email addy). I will post a website and share the adventures with teh flock. (Racy pictures would be nice or if this duck's life ends in a fatal accident please post the pictures.

I found one named Fred in 2009. I took that duck around the US, Europe, Costa Rica, and Mexico. I contacted the email address provided but never got a reply. (I now think my email got lost in spam.) I created a Facebook page for Fred and a photo album of his travels. I took him back to the playa in 2010 and an invitation to come see an album of his travel photos was on the first page of the WWW. I passed him onto a Mexican friend and Fred has been in Mexico since.
In 2012, I found another duck named Jimbo. He has the same message on the bottom of him but with a different name. It was my highlight of the burn. I told the guy that had him my story of Fred and he gave me Jimbo. I finally got in touch with Mike from the email on the bottom of the ducks. He said he put 10-15 of them on the playa in 2009. This was the first since 2010 he heard of the ducks again. Since then, I have taken Jimbo around the US, to Mexico, and to Turkey. Fred's Facebook page was changed to Black Rock Ducks. If you found a duck and still have it, please bring it back or pass it to someone coming to Burning Man this year. I want to have a reunion of the Black Rock Ducks. My friend from Mexico is bringing Fred back so he can reunite with Jimbo. Then I plan to pass Jimbo onto someone else for traveling. I need to figure out a good time and place for the renion. Maybe I should contact Duck Pond?
