ePlaya Meet and Greet 2013 - What are you doing?
Re: Eplaya Meet and Greet 2013 - What are you doing?
Thanks for letting us know Asquared! I'm doing some freeze/reheat foods this year and was wondering about Mac n chz, sounds like pasta doesn't freeze and reheat very well.

Try this for your pasta: pre-cook the noodles at home to your perfect consistency, and then let them dry/freeze or whatnot for storage. When you're on the playa, bring a pot to boil, and then toss the noodles in there. Test the noodles periodically to see if they've softened (i.e. munch on one to see if it's soft enough), and when they're ready, immediately take them out of the boiling water to serve. That method cuts a lot of time out of the boil, and allows you to quickly serve up pre-cooked noodles without them being too soggy or hard.Milayna wrote:Thanks for letting us know Asquared! i made the sauce from scratch, that's the part that didn't re-heat well. the noodles were fine (i froze it in a bag and did the re-heat as i would on playa, bag in boil). maybe veggie spaghetti would work.

Pre-cook that sauce, and put it in a bag (double-bagged). Then when you're ready to eat it, slow-reheat in a pot (there's no rushing that part), possibly adding a little bit of tomato paste and/or beef broth if the sauce is too thick. Plop on the reheated noodles and tada!

I have so much 'like' for this post!Dr. Pyro wrote:I had TnT's absinthe Jello shots last year and lived to tell about it. I know Yggy did the same. Though I'm not a fan of Jello shots in general (little known fact: Tom Lehrer is the alleged "inventor" of the Jello shot), I do have a weakness for absinthe. Alright! sounds like a great time, although when you say 'devoured' what exactly do you mean? Should I be concerned, or dress appropriately?lucky420 wrote:Yes welcomed and devoured...

Yes. An earlier start on the quotes would be good. If possible.

Seems that things have been quieter on the board this year to me - well except for requests for information and the inevitable search for it/ do some reading reply
**edit - what I mean is, will a quotes game be that inclusive or just for a select few?

Yeah it is a bit quiet! But maybe it will pick up. Can always dig back a bit further and drag out some old quotes so everyone gets a go.Turtleburp wrote:Seems that things have been quieter on the board this year to me - well except for requests for information and the inevitable search for it/ do some reading reply

Or I could just make up stuff that I think people might say. Mess with people that way.

Sounds like fun! I would love to meet everyone. Plus, every good party needs an awkward outcast.... I can DEFINITELY fill that roll.
As far as what to bring.... Too soon to tell.... I'm indecisive.
