still looking for the right camp

we are four crazy guys with a RV and we are still looking for the
right camp with kitchen and food !!

(located between 5:30 & 9:00 A - D would be nice )

Would be nice to get some recommendts …

if 4 guys and an RV cannot organize how to do food and enjoy themselves in camp!! they should resign from guy-hood.


so..

go buy a bunch of guy food.

purchase a reasonably priced propane grill.

get some coolers with ice (or a dorm fridge or freezer for resonably price if you can run electricity all of the time)

stock that thing full of food..

cook food all week.

bring some extra tents to set up outside of the RV, youll find that sharing one might be a bit uncomfortable for multiple reasons as the event goes on..


HAVE FUN.


you are the camp...

use that place as your 'chill out' spot, to eat and sleep......

use the rest of the city as your 'lets do fun stuff' camp.

theres bars, tons of shade and tons of people all over the city, no need to camp WITH them to enjoy them.

yeah, actually you r right ...

it´s my 3rd BM, and I personally love to cook, .... but i m there with 3 virgins.
We /there have sooo much to do and to see there. i think, there is no time for cooking every day
(although, could still be very funny )

But what is more important, I have no idea how and where can we get a good located place.
All good located camps are already there for years.
We don´t like to camp somewhere located at L or K

So a good located camp with a kitchen would be still better. We are ready for all crimes

My recommendation would be to dial up a little radical self reliance. Start by looking at the 'How To Join A Theme Camp' thread. No need to read the whole thing, just that first post has great info. From there, take a look at the list of topics on this message board (2013 Theme Camps). You'll find a number of camps have posted info about what they're doing, and if they're seeking new members. If you want to be neighbhorhood-centric, there are threads for that too. It's still a little early, since a number of registered camps don't start getting gung ho until after placement is announced in early July. Burning Man will also be publishing a partial list of registered camps in the weeks ahead, that's another good place to look. Find a camp that interests you and your friends, and reach out to them and see if you can be a part of them.

You're a third year burner, so you're probably familiar with the 'no spectators' aspect of the event, and in that line you guys may want to think about what you can bring to the table and what you'd like to do to participate. I think JFK said it best when he said "ask not what your camp can do for you, but what you can do for your camp."

Another place to consider posting is on the Spark collaboration tool (linked in my signature below). Being in a camp is a collaboration, and that's a good place for both camps to post about themselves for prospective campmates, and for participants to post about themselves for camps.

That really is the issue. Marko, there is no shortage of "four crazy guys" in an RV. You might have skills worth offering, but no one can tell--you're leading with what you want, but not the skills you have to offer. Figure out why a camp would be excited to have you, and start approaching them with that. Honestly, most camps don't want to just take care of people; they want to work together to create something special.

Whether you find a camp or not, you might wanna take Lemur's advice about coolers & a grill. There's a lot of decent food with minimal preparation. I've Burned many times without cooking anything more than a hot dog over open flames. You're going to need portable snacks anyway. Don't forget utensils, can opener, corkscrew, spices, napkins, trash bags . . .

It seems like you're harboring a severe misconception that camps in BRC, let alone BRC's prime real estate, are looking to fill their douchebag quota and jumping at the chance to host some random dudes camping in an RV and provide you with all the trimmings, without contributing anything useful.

Maybe you're not douchebags. Maybe you're some fine chaps. But from your request and "contribution" this certainly seems like there's a good chance you might bring a level of douchebaggery to any camp. Try working on that.

Kudos to you Marko You are taking it upon your self to be a Sherpa/Baby sitter/concierge Just be a pal to your Virgin friends and don't dictate how they should burn. also remember this this is your Junior Year (3d Burn) next year you should be the one answering these kind of questions. not asking them.
Just stock the RV, Bring Shade to offer to public, and Donate all your leftover $ (the stuff you'd have to pay to join a camp) to a few Art projects. And stay over on the 10'o clock side with the other orphans.
