Red Lightning just opened a few spots in its community for both campers and RVs! If you know anyone who wants to come and stay with us at Burning Man, Please let them know!!

We provide 2 meals/day, some drinking water, showers, a luscious community of deeply spiritual and juicy burners, and land on which to live. We are located at 8:45 and Esplanade!!! There is no better real estate on the playa! Tucked in next to the beauties at Pink heart, you will find Red Lightning an incredible, joyous and transformative place to call home!

As we are a service camp, we do require our campers to play a part in keeping things running smoothly. At this point our programming and Communication Rangers teams are open. We also require that you stay and help us strike! If you can't work, but want to join us, let's talk.

Programming: helps is keep workshops moving along smoothly Communication Rangers: Check in campers upon arrival, distribute water at meal times and be at the center of camp information station!

Wow, your "no work" fees are pretty steep- I guess the people paying what's posted here (should you be posting fees here? I'm not sure of the etiquette) get the honor of serving the ones who pony up more?

You're correct, MegsLegs; camp dues and fees are better listed on a camp's website or via email or PM. I have edited the post and will let the OP know.

I've been part of a 600 person village with no dues, a >300 person camp with no dues and shared meals and a 250 person camp with dues of $150 which included meals, each participant bringing some coordinated ingredients, a major soundcamp and domes to camp in without a tent. That one was the only one of 8 to which I've paid dues to participate.

If you multiply the number of campers in the above mentioned camp, about 200, by their dues you get a large budget. I would be very curious if there is a smaller budget with some campers paying 0 and others full price. Or if they don't fill their last minute open spots, they will eat 4-low 5 figures of reserves (reserves??!?). Or if they have a backer that handles 4-5 figure budget swings. Or if the last 10-20 campers are 4-low 5 figures of pure profit.

I have no idea what they had on their questionnaire. But the majority of theme camps who post recruitment threads spend a significant chunk of time and energy in that post talking about what the camp does and what excites them about being a camp - running a bar, building art, bringing a stage, serving root beer floats, etc.

That info might be contained in the inaccessible doc that water dog linked to, but unfortunately no effort went into including any of it in the post. Hopefully he/she checks back in on the thread and provides some of that detail.

sorry i missed a 1 off the beginning its about $120,000 assumimg everyone works and doesn't come in an rv.

Maybe you should write to them and ask.

I don't actually care enough to do that, if they can get 200ish people to pay those fees and get placed year on year they must be doing something right.

I learned long ago not to care what other people do with their money, nobody tells me what to do with mine. And to be honest if i put the kind of effort required into creating a huge camp with works of art, interactive toys, an mv etc, etc, etc I would want to be sure it didn't cost me a dime

That's a substantial typo, more than twice what they quoted. (I remember what the dues were, having edited the prices out of the initial post). If you want additional information, please google them or visit the links.
