All of our access to vehicles with trailer hitches and attempts to install a trailer hitch on an existing vehicle one of us owns have fallen through, so here we are on Thursday afternoon with a completed mutant vehicle and no way to get it to the playa. Can anyone save the day? In exchange, assuming you want to convoy-up, we can offer a ton of space for your stuff and some extra ride-spots if you need them, as well as much booze etc. you'll let us give you.
Thanks for looking,

Rent a truck from Home Depot. They have the best daily rates and I'm pretty sure a trailer hitch.

Might be of help with advice on mounting a receiver, if that would help.

I think the "hail Mary" tactic is not your best bet.
They make hitches for damn near anything.
Buy one. Bolt it on. It's not that hard and this is a "MUST DO" situation.
Who the hell can build a decent mutant vehicle and can't tighten six bolts?
Go to U-Haul, they have hitches. Go to a welding shop, they can make one. All you need is a little square-tube and some plate. Go to a trailer supply place. GET a goddamm hitch and get going!!!
Sorry to sound "Drill Seargeant" but failure is not an option!
This is a simple problem that you can fix.
Assuming you have a truck or van or SUV that can tow it but lacks a hitch - they simply bolt to the frame, frequently through existing holes. If you have to drill the holes then get your ass down there and drill!
Start with a really small drill bit - 1/8" or so. Then step to a slightly larger one and keep stepping until the bolts fit through.
You can buy a drill and a set of bits at Home Depot.

The issue was getting the hitch itself in time to get it installed before leaving, which we didn't know if we could until today (whoo! just in time). No one out here on the ground stopped working when we posted this; just covering every conceivable option.Assuming you have a truck or van or SUV that can tow it but lacks a hitch

I had this issue recently and found one in a salvage yard very fast, but it was for a full size truck.
Used car lots are an option too.
They pull them off there.
