UK Burner Looking for Awesome Humans to Travel With.

Post by Judo Chops » Tue Jul 16, 2013 10:04 am

Hello hello,

My name's Toni, I'm from Leeds, UK and I'm itching to go the burn this year. I went once before in '09 with a mate, but now I'm looking to tag along/form a group with people going this year. Unfortunately no-one I know in Leeds has the money or inclination to go.

Are there any people looking for an extra body in their RV? If so, drop me a line!

Thanks for reading.

Toni.

Hey Toni!

I'm bummed to check a map and see that Leeds is so far from London (heard of Leeds all my life but never "compared and contrasted" ). 'Cause there's a monthly Burner meetup in London on Thursday, but unless you travel for business it's probably too far to go for networking.

Maybe join these mailing lists, though.

And proactively send emails or PMs to threads seeking additional campers. They might not check their own threads on a daily basis.

Good luck!

I think they're probably quite glad to be so far away from London, innit

far = about 3.5 hours...

Yeah, but the nearest Burner town away from mine is literally 3.5 hours too, and I would be hesitant to go there for a pub night. The trains don't run all night . . .

You don't fool me Savannah - you'd go home in the morning !

Sorry Toni, we are a rude bunch here and quite happy to completely ignore your topic and have a conversation.

Good luck finding a berth in an RV

No worries!

Thanks, I'm gonna put some more feelers out there.

p.s. Savannah, you're missing out big time - Leeds is amazeballs. We've got proper ale, proper pies, proper Yorkshire puddings.... NOM NOM NOM.

Hi Tony, did you find a Rv yet? Would you like to share one with me and my boyfriend? We are Brazilians living in San Diego. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks

I believe it. When I said I'm 3.5 hours from the (next-nearest) Burner town, I meant "here in the states". I'm probably more than half a day from Leeds . . .

Which sucks, because I do like a pie & a pint. :)
