Water transport!

Post by Zaling » Thu Aug 15, 2013 2:17 pm

Hey dusty people!

Our water transport to BRC just fell through, so we're frantically looking for an alternate solution. We need to get water for three people to the playa and our car can't take the weight. We're thinking 15 2.5 gallon suitcases. We're located in Aspen, CO and our camp is at 9 and D (Enchanted Oasis). Anyone got some space to share? We're happy to help pay for gas/space. I hate having to ask last minute like this (doesn't feel very radically self reliant), but shit happens I guess. :\

Worst case, take enough water to get you through the first day or two. Then, with the car unloaded, get a re-entry pass for one of you to drive out and get water from Gerlach.
Don't count on their still having containers to buy.

3x 1.5 gallons x 8 days for 36 gallons.
So what you bring to drink your first day when you enter, plus 35 gallons: 7x white 5 gallon pails & lids from walmart (stack-able when empty to transport in your car).
Works out to $6.75 a filled bucket.

That's one word I regret googling during breakfast.

Video games are giving kids unrealistic expectations on how many swords they can carry.

, but don't harm the red dragon that frequents the area from time to time. He and I have an agreement.

Reusable suitcases or other containers are, well, reusable.
But Costco is selling two 2.5 gallon spring water containers for $6.45.
