here comes the ticket flood!
oh yeah.
its rising.
part of me wants to do the 'ignore ticket threads' thing.. and part of me wants to hold out for the real juicy stuff.
but either way. ...... that 'OFFERED' thing sure does seem to be happening more now

Re: here comes the ticket flood!
Actually, it's not really much of a flood. Last year there were a lot more tickets being offered, and the going rate was considerably lower (though to be fair, last year's tiered pricing meant there were numbers of lower-priced tickets that were in circulation).
Remember, if the ticket nonsense gets to be too much (read as: annoying) you can opt out of the ticket boards.
And if you're looking, remember that there are scammers and shady people operating on these boards. We've already pulled a number of suspicious threads, and expect that more will follow in the next two weeks. Personally, I'd avoid anybody who's spamming the boards with multiple threads. People who post sales pitches in a string of ticket seeker threads may just be panicked newbies, but keep an eye out for people telling different stories in various responses.

I agree it's not much of a flood. In fact it looks like just the opposite. There are many more looking for tickets on this board, with no replies, compared to those selling with many replies.Quite a contrast to last year.
Be careful. You can spend all your money in there..............................Oriental Visitor
Re: here comes the ticket flood!
I do see a number of tickets available . . . but I note that people are still getting face value for Main Sale tickets, whereas this time last year people were offering tickets for less than face value. Then again, the reason for that might be that last year there was more panicked overbuying--people trying to game the system or buying 2 tickets when they would normally only buy 1 . . . and then had extras they didn't wanna get stuck with.
This year a greater number of people found tickets earlier because of more measured behavior & less overbuying, and because the OMG sale had thousands more tickets. So fewer people have unneeded tickets to unload, and more people got sorted out sooner. Less hoarding, and less subsequent panic to unloaded hoarded tickets at discount prices.

Re: here comes the ticket flood!
I just looked at teh Bay Area (San Francisco) Craigslist and saw four tickets at 300 and two at 250. But there are also still people asking 500 and more. Some seem to think that December tickets are worth more than 380 just because they paid more for... somethign intangible.

Re: here comes the ticket flood!
I've got two available - registered for 2 thru STEP (didn't realize it wouldn't give option of 1 or 2 at purchase, just at sign up for wait list) and then I never even got option for hardcopy - just told they'd be at Will Call to pick up. Made the mistake of waiting till this past week to try to sell them as was hoping against hope something would change and I'd finally be able to make it down. Been wanting to go for about 3 yrs since friend starting talking about it...but my cruddy luck holds and after all the hassle of getting tickets - now to sell them, everyone wants hard copy, not will call and also now see the deadline for will call transfers is tomm?!?!!? So looks like my not being able to go will cost me about $800 between ticket price, step service charges and $ exchange rate.... bummer!
Next year I'll wait till it's this close to event and I KNOW I can go - then I'll try to find ticket!!!!

You can still transfer ownership of Will Call tickets; it just becomes more labor intensive.dooversue wrote:I've got two available - registered for 2 thru STEP (didn't realize it wouldn't give option of 1 or 2 at purchase, just at sign up for wait list) and then I never even got option for hardcopy - just told they'd be at Will Call to pick up. LAST MINUTE WILL CALL CHANGES
If you need to change the name on your will call order two weeks before the event or later, the person you have designated to be able to pick up your tickets MUST have:
A letter signed by you, the original ticket holder. This letter MUST state that you are authorizing a specific person to pick up your tickets. Include their full name in the letter. Example: I John Doe, sold my two will call tickets to Jane Smith and I'm authorizing her to pick them up.
A photocopy of your driver's license and a photocopy of the credit card used to purchase the tickets (you can black out the first set of numbers, just make sure the last 4 numbers can be read). Remember, the full name on the driver's license must be clear. We need to be completely sure that you have authorized someone else to pick up your tickets.
In addition to what's above, you MUST have the confirmation number.
As always for any Will Call pick up, the person picking up tickets must have, in addition to the above information, THEIR photo ID as proof of who they are! Note: Low Income tickets are NOT transferable.

I don't think gifts are something one asks for.ragnb0nes wrote:Would you be willing to transfer ownership as a gift?dooversue wrote:I've got two available - registered for 2 thru STEP (didn't realize it wouldn't give option of 1 or 2 at purchase, just at sign up for wait list) and then I never even got option for hardcopy - just told they'd be at Will Call to pick up. Don't tell that to most pregnant or soon-to-be married women planning some type of "shower." But, I def agree.Schtev wrote:I don't think gifts are something one asks for.ragnb0nes wrote:Would you be willing to transfer ownership as a gift?dooversue wrote:I've got two available - registered for 2 thru STEP (didn't realize it wouldn't give option of 1 or 2 at purchase, just at sign up for wait list) and then I never even got option for hardcopy - just told they'd be at Will Call to pick up.
