Our outdoors fish pond gave me the idea for this filter.
You will need 1 5gal.bucket w/lid.
One length of three inch pvc.
One defusser grate.
And a whole bunch of old towels.
along with a couple of KnickKnack.
First cut one pvcas long as the bucket is deep +2-3 inches. Drill two rows of 3/8 hole in one "end" on the pvc wall.
Cut a hole in the bucket lid large enough to pass the pvc through.
Cut four lengths of pvc three inches long.
Cut a round out of the lighting grate to fit the inside of the bucket. Then cut a center hole big enough for the pvc to pass through.
Put the four 3in. pvc lengths in the bottom of the bucket to support the lighting grate evenly.
Place the grate on top of the pvc.
Now take the long pvc you cut and wrapp it with towels. Wind the towels until you have a ball that will slide into the bucket. Make sure the hole you have drilled are not covered with towel.
Place the hole(s) end of the pvc into the bucket and through the center of the lighting grate. No towel should be above the top of the bucket. the lid should slide over the pvc for tight fit onto the bucket.
There is one more thing: cut a 3/4 hole about four inches below the top of the bucket. You will be able to glue a 3/4 pvc into it.
Now, How it works. Pour your gray water through the center hole. The water go's to the bottom. As more water is added the water is forced up through the towels where little critter are traped in the toweling. The 3/4 hole in the ide of the bucket is the outlet for your filtered water. I think you should be able to filter over a 100 gals. of water with room to spare. Wet it should'nt be more than 50lb. You may have to pour slow until the first water come out the exit pipe

Gray water filter?
unjonharley;
You trip on whats going in and out of the water trucks, but your saying I should mist myself with gray water after it's been in a bucket of towels?
I,ll take a dip in the "frog" anyday over a mist of shower or dish water!
Thanks for the advice. ......... Take care, Honey.........

Sorry for the misunderstanding Honey. The misting I do is around camp. For dust controll.
This filter would have to go through alot of water before you would find any thing in it.
This filter is suggested for the person that has just "now" figured out they will need a water system.
Thank you for caring Honey Sock.
