Do dead bugs count as MOOP?

Postby heikediguoren » Thu Aug 20, 2015 11:30 am

So it seems like this year there are going to be a lot of bugs on the playa. Do I have a responsibility to pick up and carry out any dead bugs that I find? Or will Restoration be ok with us leaving them to decompose on their own?

Depends. Did you get them drunk, pass out and die in the sun?

Mandatory: ticket, water, hat, goggles, sunglasses, sunscreen, tweezers. We draw them there by our blinky lights and we take them away. Every last one. LNT!

They aren't dead until they've been taken to the hospital in Reno and declared dead. So there are no dead bugs on the playa, no matter how they look.

The best part is you don't need a MOOP bag, or even lunch.

(Get it? You just pop them into your mouth....ah, forget it.)

If they fall out of the night sky from a propane fireball onto the playa, does the three second rule apply?

Actually, if you read the rules, not only should you not mess with the dead bugs, you SHALL NOT pickup the bugs.

"The collection of animal or plant species is strictly prohibited".
"To sum up my compassion level, I think we should feed the unwanted animals to the homeless. Or visa versa. Too much attention and money is spent on both."
