Kirbo here

Post by KirboTurbo » Sun Sep 08, 2013 8:17 pm

This was my first burn! I never dreamed how amazing each and everyone of you were. My life will never be the same. I wanted to thank each of you, but that obviously would be impossible. If you ran into a single guy from Kansas that made and handed out simple wood beaded leather bracelets, that would be me! I think of the friend I met with the broken ankle, the screen shirt guy that have me a shirt and a rice Krispy treat on my way home late at night after I had hurt my back and had a flat tire on my bike. I think of the couple in line at ice and the young man from NYC. I think of the guy who brought a kid that works for him from North Carolina. I think of Flirt Camp. I think of the kid that took interest in my well being after being bucked off the duck! I think I the young married guy that I rode from the Barbie Death camp to the Duck pond with, naked but never stopping our conversation. I think of the guys that urged me to join them in the naked pub crawl, breaking down my body issues and making realize what I look like naked doesn't matter! I think of those camped around me and my Kirby vacuum sweeper. I think of the guys that took me out on an art truck the last night. I think of Jamie's Bar. I think of the Kiwi infused home brew. I think of the zip line guys. I think of the people that stopped and asked me about my 9 year journey that I had written on the side of my truck. I think of the strangers I shared the actual burn with. I think of all the Portland people I met. I think of the volcano club. I think of those I shared my salsa with. I think of the glamcock guys. I think of the guy that fixed my flat tire. I think of all the smiles, all the hellos, all the "Welcome Homes", all the hugs! I think of the 3 girls I met at breakfast the day after the burn. There are so many others that touched my life that week! I will always remember and always hold a piece of the Playa ing heart and soul! Thank you for touching a life!

I'm glad to hear that you 'got it' Kirbo. When I returned from my second burn, I made a decision to make the burn happen all year round, so I got involved with regionals and met a great group of new friends !

Best burns + dust...

Hey Kirbo, I hope I can thank you next year. Stay dusty.
