What a piece of mindfuck that movie is. No wonder it's so famous. "The building may be blown away, but if you're under your desk you'll be okay." Um, yeah, can I have fries with that?
And I have no idea what that monkey is supposed to represent.
How would you remake that into a burner film?
Remember: Grown-ups will help you as they always do.

WOW. Just... wow! I must find a way to sneak this movie into an American culture studies lecture....

Re: The Alien Siege Machine
Actually it won't be my Chrysler Siren. I don't have the band width to transport that, my Village gear and four generators and enough distro for a City Block at BRC. Sooooooooo, I have aquired the emergency warning siren that was from the Port of Oakland. They converted to electronic horn type sirens. I have their original siren that was motor driven. It takes a bunch of current, but we have that covered.
This will be in addition to some warning shots AND a signal cannon...

Re: The Alien Siege Machine
I am sure if it was good enough for the Port of Oakland, it will be adequate warning for the citizens of BRC. One of those sounds that brings shivers, goose bumps, and memories of all the chewing gum on the underside of school desks. Our local Chrysler was about 1/4 mile from school. Don't remember which day of the week, but always tested at noon.

Re: The Alien Siege Machine
Interesting story about the Rochester siren. The Cassorla Brothers, who own Roller Coaster Fireworks in Battle Mountain have been trying to purchase that siren for almost a decade. Their childhood home is blocks away. In 1997 or 98, Steve Cassorla was doing the Pyro for the Man. There was an "issue" about too much magnesium and the Man blew way too early and he was replaced. Their father still works at the fireworks stand on a daily basis. He will be 99 in a few weeks.
Something about Rochester.

Re: The Alien Siege Machine
I had an old air raid siren. I got rid of it years ago because I couldn't figure out what the hell to do with it, or even where to play with it without causing trouble...

In NYC sirens could meld into us all.

Re: The Alien Siege Machine
Final hours of our Indiegogo fundraiser! We need all the support we can get, despite the Honoraria grant! (it is only partial) We have added so many activities, ideas and pyro, that this project is simply over the top, and headed for deep, deep orbit. Please, the builders and dreamers of this project need you to share this https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the- ... g-man-2014 by all means necessary, and help us get the word out to make that final push successful!
I know lots of folks hate that projects ask for contributions, but without them, we don't survive. The fact of the matter is that it takes a major amount of cash to bring a project like this out, and without the support of viewers like you, they simply cannot happen. No one associated with the project is a wealthy benefactor, and since we can't get Coca-Cola to slap their name and logo on the side, we have to turn to the 70,000 participants to throw us a few bones. So far we have tapped into 0.24% of the 70k people who come out, and that is including at least 1/2 dozen of people who have never gone, and never will! With your help, we can reach at least another 0.002 %! We promise to be responsible with your money and your project! --Fox
