Art Grant & tickets & placement questions

Postby pantz » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:12 pm

Ugh - so, I'm heading up this super neato project - Suspension of Disbelief.
http://igg.me/at/suspend-disbelief/x/2150847

We have submitted our grant request via the online form as instructed.

Ticket Pre-sale registration has come and gone - we all kind of ignored that (starving artists and all)

The general public ticket registration is coming up in Feb.

No where have I found where it says when we'll know if we've gotten any grant at all - IF we will be placed on playa or not - If we'll have access to artist priced tickets - Or get any kind of early arrival.

What do we do?

You might want to go ahead and order tickets, then sell them through STEP if you get artist tickets. Or wait until March and buy extras on STEP.

Thanks everyone!

I shared all of this with my gang and we agree with Crypto Fish on this one - those of us who can afford to will try to purchase tickets on Feb. 26th and go from there.

I can't wait to get this thing in the air and climb all over this shit!

Honorarium recipients are often given a small allotment of tickets to help with the project, but it generally does not cover the entire crew. You and your teammates should plan to purchase tickets in the Individual Sale, and then if you're fortunate enough to receive a grant (which would only cover a portion of the project) and a ticket allotment, you'll have additional tickets for people who may join you later, or that can be used for fundraising purposes.

As Just_Joe mentioned in his post, decisions are typically made by early March. This year that may be mid to late March, since the submission deadline is February 15 (instead of the 1st).

If you are not awarded an honorarium art grant, your application will still be considered for placement. The ARTery will be able to tell you if you'd need to submit a separate placement questionnaire. As I understand it, registering for placement is a pretty easy process, unless there are safety or LNT issues.
