Have you been working hard on a magnificent mutant vehicle to bring to Burning Man in 2014? Or have you been dreaming about building one but are waiting for just the right kick in the pants to kick your planning and build season into high gear?

Well here's that kick.... the Mutant Vehicle Application closes at noon pdt on May 15th! The application's a big form that asks for plenty of information, so DO NOT WAIT til the last minute to take your first look at it. If you haven't already completed your application, GET IN THERE NOW and start taking a look at it. Figure out the kind of information you'll need and get that thing filled out as soon as you can. You can access the Mutant Vehicle Application through your Burner Profile - click here to jump to that page. They've even got a PDF version of the application that you can print out and work on offline (though remember, you have to go back and enter all that info online when you're done - all applications must be completed online).

The Burning Man DMV does a fantastic job of providing plenty of details on the application pages, and spells out exactly the kind of stuff they're looking for. So dive right in and check out the application, and if you have questions about any part of the application contact the team directly at [email protected] to get answers. I think I submitted my application at Noon today (May 9). I have not received confirmation that it was received yet.

The Bi-Polar Express (BPE) is a three car steam train built by the builders of Beau Le'Phant (the pink elephant). We hope to present the BPE to the DMV Hotties on Saturday, August 23rd

The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. If the plethora of playa ships tells us anything, you can have 100 (or more) people all bringing the same type of mutant vehicle to the playa and each one turns out unique and magnificent in its own way. Good luck with the application, and the project!

Camp Shit Ait Right is happy to announce that we will be bringing a fully accessible mutant vehicle to the playa this year. It will be a magic carpet with an awning, run through solar electricity. The vehicle will have a ramp for wheelchair access.

We will provide a shuttle service for Burners arriving on the Burner Express as well as (art) tours. Camps or individuals wishing to coordinate with us are welcome to contact me.

Touché! I am expecting an influx of magic carpets with the caravansary theme. Also it seemed to be a very accessible option.

Please please please - share a pic or sketch if you'd like, or just tell us a little about what you're planning to do. We LOVE hearing about awesome mutant vehicles, just like we love hearing about camps and art installations.
