Camp D.O.A.(Decadent Outdoor Adventurers)

We are a very small but very special theme camp! We provide fun and relaxing decadence to the playa - usually in the form of libations. Our best blow outs are when we provide fine french champagne and our expensive wines. We definitely do NOT serve Cooks sparkling wine or Charles Shaw (2 buck Chuck) swill.
Sadly there are a few members who will not be able to attend this year so funding for events may be tighter. We have previously obtained great placement on 3 o'clock because of all our hosted events. You may have seen us directly across from Dementha or maybe near Cafe Negro... Our camp fees are high because we are so small, but we know how to have a great time and how to make our guests very happy!
Last year we had 20 people ranging from about the mid 20's in age to 60. We all love the outdoors and the thing that brought us together originally is our love of outdoor activities and fine wine. What can be better than a 5 mile hike into the wilderness followed by wine shared among friends?!
If you would like to join a group that is a little slower paced in order to absorb the finer aspects of Burning Man, and don't mind a little higher camp dues, please let us know. We would like to plan how many events to host within the next month.
We are very organized and you will know what is expected prior to your arrival onto the playa.
Thank you! And remember, it is not how much you burn but how bright you burn.

Just received our invitation for group sale. If you want to be part of Camp D.O.A. and also want to get in on the group purchase, we still have some available slots left. Let us know if you want to participate.
Looking forward to seeing you on the playa!

Do you guys have a web site or some more information? Like what are the dues, what infrastructure you supply for it and what you expect me to bring along?
Cheers,
-Chuck

Absolutely, Chuck! Website changes frequently but we have a lot of great information hosted on
http://sites.google.com/site/campdoa/ like what types of events we will be hosting this year, the types of things you will have access to - like our roomy shade structure, and our new shower stall with free bio-soap, kitchen space, etc.
We are a small group, usually well placed on 3 o'clock, close to the excitement but with enough distance from the craziness.

We are definitely interested in finding out more about joining you - we are second-time burners, and are good at helping out. We had sent an email to the peritwinkle65 email address, but haven't heard back yet. Hoping to hear from you!

No placement questionnaire?! I was so ready to get ours completed. Well, back to more wine planning. Here is just a "taste" of some California foothill wines that we have lined up for the playa....

I'm anxious to get ours filled out too, but I'm all for anything they can do to improve the process. In the meantime, woohoo for wine!

I'm (sadly) not making it out to BM this year but saw this and just wanted to say I bumped into your camp at around 4am on Friday night, you offered us whiskey and cigars and wine and gave me a dog tag. I told so many people about you camp and have the dog tag up in my room. Thank you for bringing Camp DOA to the playa

Trilobyte, you will definitely have to come by for some wine! ....maybe even some champagne. Neris, bummer you will not be on the playa this year! I am sure we will be back next year, so be sure to stop by! We just love spoiling our guests.

Damn straight! And you'll have to stop by Eridu Society - we tend to serve a few different things at different times throughout the day, but just stop by and say hello.

Camp D.O.A sounds awesome! We are 1RV filled with climbers (& wine enthusiasts & whiskey lovers) from Finland and looking for a nice camp for Burning Man 2014

hiking & wine sounds fun because essential part in organizing our climbing treks is to have good snacks and meals

And we also organize underground techno parties in Finland.
Since I am a first-timer, I would like to know a few things:
-do you accept international guests?
-what kind of things you expect from participants?
-how much work is there during BM?
-do you need help in something we could do in Finland beforehand and then take with us to BM?
(We are not afraid of the work but would like just know beforehand how everything works

)

Super excited for this year at Burning Man! We have already made most of our purchases for events including a nice stash of Veuve Clicquot. Yum! Can't wait to see where we are placed. Space in our camp is beginning to run out.....

Veuve Clicquot on the Playa? How have I missed you guys? After a week of hard labor prepping The Man I can't think of anything more refreshing.
I hope to find you all this year and share some magic. What a fantastic camp theme.
Cheers!
