It doesn't seem like too much of a mystery, it looks like they've been chased and/or scared away. It's also possible that they're waiting to hear back from placement, or going through the wranglings of an emergency camp meeting before coming back here. I really hope that it's one of the latter and not the former - some of the replies may have been hard to read, but in a tough love kind of way IMO.

Just to add to the mystery..

My camp from last year, Asparagus Forest, considered camping with Playagon as did a camp quite connected with AP, The Future. When I saw this thread I showed my boyfriend who immediately passed it on to a friend in The Future who is also involved with CAPSLOCK and he got really annoyed that lies were being spread because he knew nothing of this drama or who the OP even is. He even said some stuff about CAPSLOCK's name being stolen or something. This guy is really busy and hard to pin down to get details from but basically that conversation made this whole thing seem even weirder

I'm not really sure what was confusing about my post but what I was saying is that I've spoken to (well sat next to my BF while he Facebook chatted to) someone else connected to Playagon and they had a very different perspective to the OP.

Trying to re-read it, I'm not sure what AP refers to, is that a reference to Playagon, or did you mean to type AF (meaning Asparagus Forest)? So I guess you're saying that when you saw this thread, you showed your boyfriend, who then told a friend in a camp called The Future (who also was not a part of Playagon, but had also considered it), who is also involved with CAPSLOCK somehow. You're also relaying a claim that he's making about CAPSLOCK's name being stolen, but very short on details (presumably because it wasn't your conversation, you were just looking over the shoulder of somebody else's chat). That's some world class rumor-mongering!

I think the OP made it pretty clear that they were a member of New York Dangerous. I read the mention of CAPSLOCK in the post as his/her saying that NYD and CL were two camps in the village that were somehow left out in the cold because someone went AWOL. It's entirely possible that he had that wrong, as it's entirely possible that lots of details were incorrect. Unless one of the organizers from Playagon or CAPSLOCK chimes in with their own differing version of events, it's all just rumor and hearsay.

People go missing from message board conversations all the time. They could have fled the country, been attacked by a moose, swallowed by a sinkhole, done something sinister or had something sinister done to them, or something far more garden variety (and likely). Work or outside life gets busy, otherwise busy with camp drama, or just stressed out by the situation and a conversation going in a different direction than they'd hoped so they step away from the board for a while (which is really easy when the board isn't a place you frequent regularly).

Yes I did mean to say AF.

The Future were part of Playagon at least up to about a month ago. When my boyfriend and I decided not to camp with AF we talked about joining The Future in Playagon or bringing our own camp to Playagon. It was hard to get info and what they were offering didn't sound like our bag so we went with something else. Now it seems The Future has split from Playagon too. The friend my boyfriend talked to is still very much involved in CAPSLOCK, the same as BF and I are with Asparagus Forest, we're not camping with them because of drama with one person but everyone else are friends of ours and we're still helping out with their planning and stuff. All I was trying to say is there is a lot more mystery to this than is immediately obvious.

In the meantime, I've enjoyed the helpful suggestions, the snarky critiques, and the utter non sequiturs so far - we'll be on playa no matter what, but since I know the difference re: traffic, convenience, and efficiency of being placed vs being in whatever landgrab we can accomplish past G, I absolutely want an address. I'm not saying anyone here *has* to support us, but I wouldn't bet against us.
