Hello everyone. I am a Burning virgin who just found out about Burning man and I am now determined to come as well as bring my own theme camp. I missed the deadline to register but it looks like one is still eligible to bring a theme camp in August.

My idea (please tell me if this is too similar to ideas past) is to create a theme camp centered around the ideas of the personal being political, and vice versa, how this happens, the microcosms and macrocosms of actions, events, people, places, and ideas and how the smallest action can be the biggest statement.

ANyone interested in participating/making this happen?

You're right, anyone can have a theme camp, registration isn't necessary.
Your camp doesn't sound fun to me... but it doesn't have to.

Rather than creating a theme camp on your first time, consider looking at what previously established theme camps and activities that might pique your interest.

You certainly can have that camp. We had a small camp next to us which explored logical fallacies. Maybe six to eight people, however, they all knew each other and had the same interests before they went to the playa.

Can you please translate that in to simple English using common words with fewer syllables?

I'm really struggling with "personal being political".

All being a "theme camp" means is that your camp has a theme. Really, that's it. A "registered theme camp" is one that is "placed" by Burning Man, which means they are given a set location in BRC, and usually get Early Entry to set up their infrastructure. Only about 800-1,000 camps get placed (not even all the ones that apply for it), but the vast majority of the camps in the city are just people bringing their vision, and they can set up in any open area (there are plenty of threads on ePlaya about where to camp, they should be in the Shelter & Camping forum).

As for making big plans for what appears to be a rather intense discussion oriented camp for your first year - I would advise against it. Go and experience what the event actually is before making big plans for what you want to do there (and try to avoid watching YouTube & looking at Flickr pictures, they give an extremely skewed version of it).

Midnight Popcorn Palace was pretty self explanatory. You came by late at night and they had popcorn. Black Rock Roller Disco has a huge floor, sound system, and skates. Bike repair camps bring tools and parts and will fix your bike. The Distrikt has a huge dance floor and huge sound.
Some are small, some are huge, but when you come by, you know what they are.

What exactly are you talking about physically doing? Say I'm walking down the street, passing by some hot afternoon. Am I going to sit in your tent and engage in your heavy discussion? Are you gonna put up a bunch of signs and lecture on a bullhorn?
Are you hoping to host some sort of round table discussion with passers-by?

I envision it as a 1950's beatnik coffee-shop with lots of people of all genders walking around in tweed with pipes clenched in their teeth, mumbling important things. At least that's how I'd do it. Or I'd take that on the road and perform it in bars (I have some friends who used to go roaming as "Mormon missionaries" and do performance pieces in bar camps).
