Art Car Bus Stop is looking for fresh, young, tasty new blood for this year's burn. Art Car Bus Stop is a faux municipal service, a spontaneous autonomous commune of great people. We have an AMAZING atmosphere, FIVE art installations, and all the amenities you need for an awesome time with (seriously) awesome people on the playa. All we need is YOU!
For starters, we have a nice sound system with live DJs every day during our happy hour. Beneath our custom fabricated artsy-fartsy shade towers, we will be tending and enjoying the 'Barter Bar', which is also custom fabricated to match our shade. At night we have pretty lights
The Barter Bar is a place where people exchange stories and trinkets, and are given a drink of quality equivalent to the quality of their contribution, at the tender's discretion. We will also have "Storytellers Corner", a place to make up stories with your friends, as well as daily poetry slams, self-expressions, classes and lectures, and mind shares. Everyone gets to camp in the shade, and we have a shower station (just bring a solar bag) with grey water evap pond. Our kitchen is more than adequate for a fancy Playa feast. Our camp is also in charge of FIVE (yes, five) art installations! The one and only Art Car Bus Stops! We place custom (mostly repurposed) benches with LED-lit shade at 9 o'clock portal, the temple, 3 o'clock portal, the airport, and in front of our camp. These have no schedule, and perpetuate our spontaneous philosophy. "Hurry up and wait" while meeting new friends and relaxing in the shade. In the past, many unbelievable connections have been made at the Bus Stops, and sometimes, when the moon aligns with the planets.... an Art Car actually stops and picks people up. It's crazy what happens when you put a bench on the playa!
