If you are throwing a party or know of one, please post it.
I will start with the announcement that there is a party at the airport on Sat. (day of the burn) at 2:00 pm.

I think the whole place is one big party. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Ok... there's gonna be a party at Esplanade from 2:00 street to 10:00 street. There will be a party on B between 2:00 street and 10:00 street. There should be a pretty big party on C street between 2:00 street and 10:00 street. Back on D, I hear it'll be a party between 2:00 street and 10:00 street. E street is partying between 2:00 street and 10:00 street. F should be rippin it up mostly between 2:00 street and 10:00 street. G street and beyond will be a party between 2:00 street and 10:00 street.

I'm moving this over to the camps board, since that's a better fit.

As a veteran burner, you should probably already know that the parties are everywhere throughout the city, all week long. The playa events calendar has thousands of listings for events and parties, and you can check that out online now, or via one of the smartphone apps that grab and use that data. On playa, you can also check that info out at playa info. Here on the boards, you'll also find camps posting about their events either on the theme camps or art & performance board (as the name suggests, the latter is mostly focused on performances as well as larger events). Most, IMO, just kind of happen spontaneously, or aren't booked and promoted. Some of the best playa days and nights of my life have been spent at shindigs that were never posted in the guide or even anywhere online.

Someone once asked me why anybody would pay $400 for a party. I told him that simply isn't the case. You pay $1 for 400 parties.

I observe you are being rude and snarky on ePlaya to a veteran burner. He offered a ride above BRC on ePlaya. Where's your gift? Clue, snark is not a gift.

A veteran Burner asked a general "where are the parties" question. As anyone who's been there (ie: a veteran) knows, the "parties" are everywhere, at all times. This thread would be 20+ pages (at 50 posts a page) if it just listed all the parties every camp was throwing, and it would miss some. The WWW and Playa Info have plenty of information about what is happening, and there are posts all over this board from specific camps saying what they are doing. If the question had been more specific (say: "Does anyone know where good non-EDM dance parties are?" or "Does anyone know where I can learn to tango?") the responses would have been different.

Being a veteran and offering an amazing gift doesn't give you an "avoid snark" card for anything you ask - lord knows I've gotten my fair share over the years, and the snark in this thread was so mild as to barely count. Hopefully the OP realized his question was broad and laughed at some of the responses, if not... welcome to the reality of asking an extremely broad question on the internet.

The Internet is a tool, not an end.

Wield tools with wisdom and compassion. I do.

Our gift is wine, meat and cheese. Monday, Wednesday and Friday happy hours at 8:45 and A, please come by! I have also posted this in several places on ePlaya.

FWIW, I think my comment was far less rude than yours, which assumed that because I have only been going to BM since 2011, I'm somehow not allowed to joke on ePlaya.

Mr gustavh, you are in the spirit now! A-OK!

The OP may be an experienced BM veteran, but he may not know the strange cultish ways of the ePlaya. And with a little positive experience, the OP may become a fearless participant on ePlaya.

I hope so, too; I like Bachus.

I'm hoping he sees more silliness than snark in this thread.

You ask a good question: where are some great non-EDM dance parties?

I heard about a place where the occupants ignore you unless you burst through the door like an outlaw in a western... Are there any other parties where people are role playing like that?

This third verse is a placeholder so I have four verses.

Where are the geekiest parties?

All the best party info is written in the dust at trash fence and 1:38 (on the clock dial, with 12:00 being the top of the map), every day at sunrise.

This I can help answer!

The Lamplighters will be hosting several geeky parties at our 5:00 and Rod's Road (the ring around Center Camp) location. BRING YOUR OWN CUP! It is 100% okay if you don't drink alcohol - we happily serve sodas and juices as well.

MONDAY through FRIDAY parties are 3pm-5pm and our geekiest is on Friday:
* Friday 3pm-5pm: Tumbleweed's BRO party
On SATURDAY the party is moved up an hour for the burn:
* Saturday 2pm-4pm: BROWN COAT PARTY! serving Sereni-TEA
We also have a geeky after-lamplighting party THURSDAY night:
* Thursday 10pm-2am: Cosplay/Superhero Party
If Firefly-, cosplay-, bro-, and superhero-themed parties aren't geeky, I dunno where else to point you. As a bonus, you can join the Lamplighter procession afterward, if you like!
