Poor Kiwi looking for a camp to take in a tireless burner

Hi all you awesome people!

I'm a fairly poor 19 y/o backpacker from New Zealand, I arrived in San Francisco just a few days ago.
I just got offered a ticket after months of searching so now I'm coming to the Playa!

I'm backpacking around the states on low budget, so BM is stretching that very far. So I'm looking for some cool burners to team up with. I may not have many material resources, but I have the knowhow and willingness to get shit done. I believe a good camp should run on a doacracy, where people see something that needs doing an do it.
This will be my second burn, the first being this year's Kiwiburn, New Zealand's regional. At Kiwiburn, I was part of one of the biggest and most awesome camps on the paddock (our grass covered version of the Playa). That was an awesome experience, and it gave me a great insight into what needs to happen to make a camp work well.

If there are any camps out there still looking for people willing to contribute a lot of time and ideas, but not many resources, I'M YA MAN!

Much love and Happy Burning!

I'm with you bro, 33 year old kiwi never burned before but I need a ticket. Just working at a summer camp in PA at the moment but wanting to check out BM after back packing a few years ago and a New Yorker said its something i must do in my life. so here i am! if you find a ticket dude or a camp that needs some hard working kiwi's, let me know. I'll have a van once i get to cali so if you need a ride i got ya. only issue is i cant leave camp till 25th so not expecting to hit BM until 27th... if i can get a ticket.

NoelWells Snr, make sure to send emails or PMs to compatible camps you see in the 2014 Theme Camps forum. It's getting pretty late in the year and they may not be checking their threads, but some folks receive an email when they get a PM.

Lead with your skills and why you fit, not your shoestring budget (discounts may not be available, especially if they don't know your work ethic) and skip the camps that offer so much you can tell their dues are going to be stratospheric. There can be reasonable dues at certain camps. A few are free. $50-75 seems to be the starting place for those who do request dues.

You might also use the Burner Express, especially if you're still looking for a ride from SF. People who take that bus can camp in a certain spot. You would still need tent and shade, etc. (Virtually all camps require you to have your own tent anyway).

Thanks for the tips Savannah, I've started sending out PM's, but I'll get into more of it.
The Burner Express is definitely how I'll get there. If I haven't sorted something by then, I'm sure I'll meet some cool people on the ride who want to camp together.

BASShenge, where are you gonna be located? Free beer is an offer I never refuse :)

WaterFrontNate, Hopefully we see each other on the Playa if not sooner. Another kiwi is always a welcome site XD

Churn!

Is a tireless burner like an eternal flame?

Or more like a car that's been parked in a bad neighborhood?
