Hello burners!

Ok so my friend and I (both virgin burners) are journeying over the pond to be a part of this amazing festival. As its our first time, I'm not really sure what sort of theme camp to look for, so I'm humbly asking for some advice or offers.

As for us we are both young, fit and healthy lads and more than happy to muck in and get things done around camp and contribute in every way needed. We'll also provide a couple of cracking British accents and long dreamy hair. We're both also very laid back and easygoing, and probably most looking forward to meeting all sorts of interesting and wonderful people here.

Alternatively, as its our first time would you advise we don't join a camp at all...and get a feel for what its like for another year maybe?

Either experience is valid.

With a camp, you could have some of the tougher parts of the experience covered. I know that, as an overseas attendee, it's tough to get things together like a ton of food/water or shade for tents, and a theme camp can help bridge that gap for you. These benefits usually come with a cost, though, whether it be time spent volunteering in camp, or dues for the camp infrastructure. You'll also have a set address to arrive to, which can be helpful.

Without a camp, you might not be as comfortable, but you'll probably have much more freedom with your time. You'll still have awesome neighbors surrounding you. Camping without a camp tends to mean that you camp further from the center of the city, which means it might be quieter around you, or it even might be louder. Porto-potties are nicer back there.

I personally enjoy suburban camping much more than camping with a theme camp on the busy streets, but that's just me.

It's a little late in the game to find a camp now, but you might be able to secure one if that's the avenue you want to go with. Again, either options are perfectly valid, and I'm willing to bet you'll have fun either way.
