Midweek use of a construction forklift or cherry picker.

Post by Gusthefuss » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:51 am

I was wondering where I would be able to borrow or rent or loan out a piece of heavy equipment on the wednesday night of the burn. I only need it for a few hours and I'm assuming that theres not a huge demand for equipment at that time of the week. It would be in the late afternoon and early evening. I am part of Après ski camp and we are usually located over in the 3 and G area. I'd like to be able to pick up a chair from a ski lift so we could lift people up and over the crowd. Like they do over in Distrikt but not as many people at once.

Unless you've got a contact or campmate working on the DPW Heavy Equipment team, you may want to connect with camps you see using rental equipment similar to what you need, or make your own arrangements to have the equipment you need on the playa.

Plus you're asking them to take on the liability of the lift. Doubtful they would but anything's possible I guess.

Oh whew, it's only for a joyride view! No problem then. Now if it were for some useful construction purpose then there would be a problem.

Habitat for Insanity will have an extend-a-boom forklift sitting doing nothing all week. (We use it for setup, teardown, and we'll probably watch the burn from it!)
