Are you a newbie and have no Gear? Free to good home!

You have no idea how to go about this whole thing?

Are you in the Los Angeles, CA, USA area OR have someone who can store this up on your behalf?

I have to let go of my Burning Man Gear and would love for it to be used by someone who would appreciate it:

- 1 Coleman 4 person tent (good ventilation)
- 1 Coleman Queen inflatable mattress with its own battery-powered air pump
- 1 Swiss Gear sleeping bag
- 1 headlamp
- 3 Coleman Packaway collapsable lamps
- 4 rebar stakes (to hold the tent to the ground in high desert winds)
- 1 porta-pottie seat, folding stand, with its own roll of plastic bags (you only need kitty litter and a paint bucket)
- 1 set of camping pots (never used)
- 1 folding camping chair which converts to rocking chair
- 2 Coleman 5-day Xtreme coolers (the reason for two is that you place dry ice inside one for long term preservation and sporadic opening and closing, and you use the other one with normal ice for frequent opening and closing)
- 1 six-gallon Water container
- 1 Rubbermaid bin with assorted Playa wear for small/medium sized female.

This is all 95% the gear you need to go to Burning Man. Perfect set-up for first-timers. Tell me why I should choose you. I prefer someone who already has a Ticket.

That is a pretty great setup for someone just starting out. Thanks for paying it forward and good luck finding someone who can use it for their burn!

Thanks Trilobyte! Yes, as you indicate, it is about paying-it-forward. I had to part ways with some of the bins, but I still have the following:

- 1 Coleman 4 person tent (good ventilation)
- 1 Swiss Gear sleeping bag ( no playa dust: I used it only twice and always washed it and looks and smeels great)
- 1 folding camping chair which converts to rocking chair (this one does have Playa "weatherization")
- 2 Coleman 5-day Xtreme coolers (the reason for two is that you place dry ice inside one for long term preservation and sporadic opening and closing, and you use the other one with normal ice for frequent opening and closing)
- 1 six-gallon Water container

All this looks good, I'll try to post a picture but seriously, come get it soon!!!

Wow how generous!
I am coming from Australia and have nothing so i would be unbelievable indebted to you if you still have these things? I would absolutely love to repay the favor somehow too!
However i probably wont be in your area for a while yet and judging by your urgency i'm guessing you are hoping to off load them soon?

Hey CarinaLouise,

Thanks for the kind words, that's so sweet of you to say :)

Your Home of Australia/Tasmania is in my bucket-list of places to go. I've got great respect for you and all International participants: the sheer amount of effort to travel the distance ~and~ organize the logistics associated with being Radically Self-Reliant and do all this from afar...commendable!!

Your perception is correct: got a sense of urgency as I'm renting my Home out. Shortly after my post, the tenants moved in and were nice enough to allow me to keep the BM stuff in the patio temporarily (Sadly, this happened after I donated a lot of the stuff listed in the initial post). Being that we are some 40-something days away from the event, you are a fellow female, travelling from so far and have no gear, it would be my pleasure to save the stuff for you. No need to repay the favor to me. However, I am wondering the logistics of this, as I am in Los Angeles, which is several hours south of BM. Would you be flying into San Francisco? Reno? Los Angeles?

Either way, you'll have an AMAZING time, especially if you're actively Participating (Proactively with your own idea or into others' shenanigan's, its just a preference)

Cheers!

Jackie

The Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is one of the best things in the entire of Australia!! :!:  :!:

If you ever make it down this way make sure you see it!

Thanks a bunch Jackie!
I will inbox you. But basically I am just sussing out camps at the moment, I may be able to find someone coming from that direction, or my travels may have even taken me down that far by then, I am flying into Vancouver soon.
Ill let you know asap but you should probably not save them for me, if you find another home for them in the mean time that is totally fine :)
If you ever make it to Tassie be sure to hit me up!
Carina

Hey Jackie!

we are a group of four new baby burners coming to BM for the first time. We are three British girls and one israeli guy.
We are super new and looking to find our feet and if your stuff is still free would be such a gift! We are goingt to be driving through LA so could come get it pretty soon if it is.

Thanks so much!!
