I am desiring to gift an airplane ride for two above the playa. Since I am not allowed to barter or request a meal or happy hour drinks or a ride in an art car in exchange for the flight then I wish to have a bit of a contest. Whoever comes up with the best 4 verse poem about the joy of a flight above BM wins. Spread your wings and lets begin.

I have worked at the airport, not going this year. What a fine gift to offer! With the altitude of the playa, all flights fall into the mile high club. Of course check with your pilot on that in advance!

Bachus, thank you for being so generous. That's a great gift. I can't take part in the contest because both of my parents are pilots and made me promise not to ever ride with strangers. The fact that they're dead doesn't void the promise. I'm not allowed to parasail either.

Good afternoon Bob!

I will try to score a ticket aboard that higher Burner plane, offered so generously;

As a meal I offer Dinty Moore delicately cooked in the can for your gourmet need;

I myself have never been on an art car, and happy hour would be just you and me;

To look down on the beautiful people of Black Rock city, only this time it’s literally;

I fear the blue skies and to sour through the clouds

But oh to escape the filth and the crowds

I would face all my fears, to the heavens we go

And piss on the little hippies below.

Roses are red
and violets are blue.
I've never been up in a plane;
may I fly with you?

in all my time at Burning man,
i have never flown, nor the airport seen
I will be clear and not give a damn
flying, this year would be a dream

as a child when growing big
flying was no big deal
i was airborne a flying pig
but getting older i lost the feel

in years past when i had the chance
to try to fly and relive the part
i have felt its not worth the dance,
of risk and loss, a broken heart

At last i want that that wait to end
to feel the joy and boundless love
to soar and fly with my dear friend
and see my home, black rock, from above

A gift of a flight
Is such a delight

Looking down on the people who roam
A place they have chosen to call home

New friendships are made
and no one is paid

Oh such fun we all had, as it came to an end
All I can say now, is thank you dear friend!

What a wonderful gift you offer! Here is a little something for you to enjoy from my lovely lady and I:

Lifting off from the land where the man burns bright,
High above burners, theme camps, art, and the like,

We begin soaring among the desert mountains, and flat lands below,
In just a few Playa hours, returns the city's infamous fire and glow,

Above on this adventure dusty friendships do brew,
A plane ride above Home, could this really be true???

With wide-eyed excitement and big smiles, we soak in the sights,
As we continue to experience, this most glorious of flights!

Boots in the dust,
Head down in the wind,
Cling to earth's crust
And wish for an end.

Away with the white-out,
The blow and the wrath;
Gaze upwards and shout
At the rainbow's path.

Spring into that blue
To frolic with clouds,
Free floating you,
Above dusty crowds.

Dreams loosed will fly
Gift them we must,
To be one with the sky
Yet one with the dust.

Mom, I miss you.

Oh the sky blue, I'm still missing you,
There should be rain as I'm still in such pain.

I wish I could fly, just to get way up high,
I need a plane to kiss you in the sky.

Bachus the pilot, he has not met me,
But it I get choosed, I would be so happy!

This is my poem, to get a gift flight.
To fly to the blue sky and kiss you goodnight.

Meant flying above all the ruckus,
We partied all day,
And then lost our our way,
We're now flying over Secaucus.

I just wanted to catch a ride

A birdseye of the playa to fulfill my dream
And my soon husband's to-be

To witness the man and the temple and all
Oh they do look so small!

The engine roars, the aircraft rolls
Our hearts beat fast – a happy mood
The endless desert falls away
Our spirits rise with altitude

From high above, we see our world
Born yesterday in love, but then
In one short week it will be gone
In one long year, to rise again

From far below a man calls out
The only man that we can see

The sun is low, it glints like gold

Well hopefully I meet you all out there. I am an A&P helicopter mechanic and I have a 1942 Piper L4A Grasshopper that I am in the process of restoring. I have volunteered to be a ride wrangler for the airport and I will of course be glad to help any aircraft that I can in the event of a hiccup or malfunction. I am also volunteering as a temple guardian, a guardian for Embrace, and as a lamplighter. This will be my second burn and my new bride's virgin burn. We are coming to Burning Man for our honeymoon! See you all there!
