CARAVANSARY

Caravansary - This year we will create a caravansary that occupies the crossroads of a dreamland: a bazaar of the bizarre wherein treasures of every sort, from every land and age, flow in and out to be flaunted, lost, exploited and discovered. This is not a tourist destination, but a home for travelers who come here bearing gifts. Amid the twisting and the turnings of its souk, participants will come upon an inexhaustible array of teeming goods and unexpected services. Anyone may pose as 'merchant' here, and anyone may play a 'customer', but nothing in this strange emporium shall have a purchase price — no quid, no pro, no quo — no trade at all will be allowed in this ambiguous arcade. According to a rule of desert hospitality, the only thing of value in this 'marketplace' will be one's interaction with a fellow human being.

It would be great if they put a mini man on top of the Man, and then a mini mini man on top of that, etc. then we have "Man all the way up" compared to "turtles all the way down"

Expect an uptick in the number of RVs. Totally thematic for the brits.

The film -- "based on the novel" -- must not be considered a replacement for the book. Michener's epic novel is a veritable education in a culture -- very much worth reading under any circumstances. :D

ebay has 2,881 items on search "joe camel". Better bid now, these are rarer than auto passes.

Who's good at drawing? We "need" a camel drawn up like Jessica Rabbit.

Oh.... And.... Unrelated.... I want to try to be the first ePlayan to post the term camel-humper.

Wore them sometime back in the aughts ('05, I think) - do not get "otherly-centered" while wearing them & try to use the bathroom. Trust me.

My only issue is that if I get to go this year I most definitely need a vehicle pass. I live in Georgia and I'll be driving with one or more friends. If I got a ticket and no pass I couldn't go. People as far away as me have a hard enough time getting there let only trying to find people to ride with. If I lived in California it'd be no big deal.

Finally, a reason to break out the abayas mom and I wore in Saudi. And MyLarry's Desert Shield t-shirt collection.

I lived in Shiraz, they have a gorgeous caravanserai, fountain in the middle, lounging benches where tea and morgh polow was served, dappled light coming in through the stained glass windows set in the dome.

Are you a native american? If so, pursuant to law originating in the 1800's, you can not be barred from riding a horse on federal land.

If you are not a native american, you may pass unimpeded on federal land via horseback if you are carrying a prisoner, or the corpse of a prisoner, to the nearest Marshal or Sheriff, or are looking for branded livestock.

Know your rights under the law! Brand your Sparkle Ponies!!
