I always wondered how hard it will be to have the street signs illuminated at Burning Man? It will save me so much time getting lost!

I'm worried we'll even HAVE signs this year.The one at my corner was stolen before gates opened, and many more were gone by Tuesday.

That white PVC tube with the black marker address on it:

• With a cap with a battery, day/night sensor and a downward facing white LED?
  A tiny drop of PVC cement would secure a cap with the components onto the top of the tube. A serious twist would remove it.
• LED, driver electronics & battery hanging below a sealing cork, stuffed in the top of the tube?

Water-proof, not too bright. The lower the schedule pipe the thinner the wall and brighter the shine-through?

• Stick a $5 solar lawn light stuck into the top of a larger diameter PVC tube, sealed with silicone?
  Cut the bottom off to have the light go down the tube more.

Total cost under $10 each. If enough people stuck one near the street front of their camp, or at the nearest intersection...

Zac Cirivello is the media relations coordinator for the Org. It seems odd that he would leak the names, but he certainly has the potential to know them before an official announcement.

The picture's real - what you're seeing is a sneak peek of a page from this year's Survival Guide, which just recently started mailing out.

@Eric, expansion streets were added last year, but not in 2012. They've got the names picked and will have the resources to add them if/when necessary, but the size of the city (which will expand a bit this year) should be enough to accommodate the population based on previous years and population density and whatnot.

When you say the "size of the city" do ou mean that they've made the diameter bigger and thus each of the streets longer or something else?
