I have read with vast amusement the information available concerning the BM versus the recalcitrant local authorities case. What a wild ride that is. I would like to say I've seen worse judicial conduct, but I really haven't.
If this is the problem with issuing tix this year - its not going to be resolved quickly or easily.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of judicial misconduct. Pennsylvania sent two to prison for taking kickbacks from a for-profit prison to sentence children to a juvenile prison.

"If this is the problem with issuing tix this year" - implies that there is a problem with issuing tickets this year. I'm not aware of any problems - what makes you think that this is the case?

I don't see any other external reason for delay.

I can appreciate that you might be into conspiracy theories and misguided speculation, but there is no delay. In fact, we're right into the window of time when Burning Man said that ticket details would be announced. And it's right smack dab of when it happens every year (for the last few years, anyways). I can't speak for every year, but in just the time I've been going, I remember ticket sales happening as late as March. Details in January is not late.

The best advice I can give you is to relax. Stay tuned for Wednesday's JRS.

This is spinning fears out of nothing. Tickets will be announced when they're announced, just like the theme. Just because it's happening later than you think it's "supposed to" doesn't mean it is - the BMorg is notorious for doing things in their own sweet time. Don't expect things to roll out on the same schedule year-after-year, they haven't in the past & they probably won't in the future.

Or you can play the Unnecessary Drama game, and create "reasons" for what you want to believe.

I think part of the perception difference this year is the lack of a "Holiday Sale" (at wildly inflated prices).

BTW: Trilo is just dead wrong. The delay is indeed legal-based: It has been revealed to us that Larry will be delivering tickets by drone this year, and the FAA won't consider his application for waiver until March. So look for the dusty octocopters around May.

Actually I'm convinced that everything HAS already been done. But anything worth doing is worth re-doing.
