Suggestions needed for pre-reg and ticket purchase.

Post by geospyder » Wed Jan 08, 2014 7:58 pm

If I understand the JackRabbit tonight - I have to pre-register between 12 noon February 20 and 12 noon February 23. Once pre-registered I can attempt to purchase my ticket(s) starting at 12 noon on February 26.

Unfortunately on all those dates I will be out of the country and will not have access to the internet. My first thought is to find a non-Burner friend willing to set up a profile, pre-register and purchase the ticket(s) for me, paying them cash ahead of time.

Any other suggestions on how I may get tickets - preferably without having to go to will call?
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Those are pretty much your options. You can either make arrangements with someone to act as your proxy/buy tickets on your behalf (get them a prepaid debit card, so that way there's no chance they could forget to deposit funds in time so that they're available for the purchase), or you can wait and take your chances with STEP (or buying from a third party, or the OMG sale).

Yep - that's what I thought. Third option is to buy the pre-sale but I'd prefer not to. I have three weeks from today to figure it out before I leave. I will be going - just haven't figured how yet.

I make it a fun thing, since noon PST is 3AM local time for me. :-/
Hope you get it sorted though. Perhaps time to cash in a favor.

nah you dont worry about being out of the country. Its simple. Set up a vpn. Itll act as your in the united states cause thats where the signal from the vpn will be coming from. I have used things like this to buy things early before they come out in the united states. There are websites that make this an easy process. just Google vpn services. hope this helps!

@Swope, the issue wasn't that the OP was out of the country and wasn't eligible to participate in the sale, but that the OP would not have access to the internet. Fortunately, though, it sounds like he's made a connection to get things taken care of (woohoo)!

Correct - On the day of the actual ticket sale we'll be exploring the jungles and rice paddies of Bali. The only electronics we'll have will be our GPS and extra batteries hoping not to get too lost :D
