Sorry for this being short notice, but I just found out about it myself. The Burning Man Ticket Team is doing an 'Ask Me Anything' session over on Reddit from 8pm-10pm PST tonight. Ask the team anything about this year's Burning Man ticketing process! Check out the thread over on Reddit. You don't need an account on that site to follow along, but you do if you want to post something to the team (it's free and pretty painless).

My girlfriend asked me is she needed to make a burner profile and register as well, but I told her that only the person purchasing the tickets needs to do those things. AmIRight?

Remi, that sounds right. Burner Profile is a separate entity from that of the message board handle. Each Burner Profile allows you x2 tickets and x2 parking passes. Per http://tickets.burningman.com/

Gus is correct. Just the person purchasing tickets need to do a Burner Profile.

what are the issues with filling out a burner profile.?. it's quick and painless. plus you will need a profile if you decide to work with one of our teams on playa....

I think of Burner Profile as a useful screening tool, to filter out people who are not sufficiently dedicated to actually participating in the event -- frat boys, gawkers, tourists etc.
I doubt that's the original purpose, but I like to think of it that way.
And it really is no big deal, folks. Just do it.

"Information stored in your Burner Profile will be used to streamline access to and information flow for ticket sales; your on- and off-playa volunteer activities; registration of art installations, theme camps, and mutant vehicles and more. So the more information you put into it, the more benefit you’ll get out of it."

Wondering if there is a problem with the profile page. I updated my profile a while ago (7-10 days ago) and I went into the profile to pre-register for the sale but the link (sparkly things) did not direct me to the pre-registering process (1130 PST). Wait and be patient perhaps??

I hope everyone tries to register at the same time!

If ticketfly is going to have any problems, let them happen today so they can be better prepared for "T-day"!

I dont think this registration today has anything to do with Ticketfly. I think it's just on the burning man side.

I don't understand how asking what camps you were in in the past or what your occupation is streamlines anything, and if any other group but Burning Man was doing it I'd be awfully skeptical of potential discrimination issues, but, I'm not that cynical and I think it'll help hack down the half-assery.

I wonder how many sock-profiles are out there. My playa name is Pimp. My occupation is Pimp. Affiliation Name? "Affiliation is Just a WORD, and if I'm Going to Burn for a Word, My Word is POONTANG"

No but seriously, ANYTHING? How do the redundant-address-search algorithms work. For example, 145 East Main Street is the same as 145 E Main St and if the algorithm uses the wrong level of recursion the whole system could crash and then what happens fuck I'm freaking outjustellmeaTICKET!!

Heh, errors on the profile page.....LOL I got my code anyway. I bet the servers at burningman are lit up like a christmas tree right now.......I'm glad I'm NOT their IT person........

Fill out the form and send it off. The team that supports the Burner Profiles site will get back to you as soon as they're able. If you need to contact the ticket team for any other ticket support issue, visit the Ticket Support site. Check the FAQ, then use the contact form if what you're looking for isn't listed.
