Accident Last Year~ looking for info on scholarships

Hello Eplaya Community,
My name is Aisha and I had an unfortunate tumble on the playa last year which resulted in my spending the week of burning Man 2013 in a Reno orthopedic hospital... I am writing here seeking information on how to approach the Burning Man Organisation to request assistance or ticket scholarship or to help me return to the Playa and attend Burning Man this year... There should be a medical record from the Playa Infirmary on exactly what took place and the dates associated to verify my accident/injury... any constructive positive feedback would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
~Aisha

The scholarship program has been rolled into the low-income tickets. Details on that for this year haven't been released yet.

Yes, I was was hoping there would be an alternate way to request assistance as opposed to being lumped into the drawing of low income tickets. Thank you for your response

There is none. Low-Income is the only possibility. They do read those applications, and take time to think about them.

Nope, no other way. It's not a drawing, it's an application process. Feel free to read through the information on the page for ticketing, and read through the Ticketing Support site (linked in my signature, below). Stay tuned to those pages, as well as the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter and announcements on this site for additional details on the Low Income Ticket process when they are announced.

Seems a bad precedent to give tickets to the walking wounded.
There's thousands of em!!!!!

It's a shame you got injured, but even if the scholarship program still existed, it was never intended to compensate for hardship incurred on the playa itself. That is simply a risk you assume by attending. Maybe if you apply for the LIT program you could use that story (I don't know if there's even a form field for it), but the fact that you were already able to attend in a previous year (even if injured during it) would probably be a strike against your eligibility versus people who have not had the opportunity.

*borrows BBadger's harsh truth/asshole hat*
This isn't a question of letting you in for free. It's a question of you competing with other people for a very limited number of tickets. What makes you think that injuring yourself and effectively squandering your last opportunity makes you more deserving of a ticket than someone who hasn't yet had that opportunity?

negative. did I sound accusatory? I was just making sure I understood the tenor of your post.
I believe I was pretty neutral in my attempt at clarification, no?

Hey BBadger, I appreciate your feedback... yes a strike perhaps but my 'attendance' took place within hours of arriving so I didn't really have a burn, technicality ?... And would you please share further info on what the LIT program is? Thanks so much, Aisha

I was neither reckless nor foolish in my activities on the Playa, therefore in my humble and informed opinion I did not squander anything... it is a risk to attend Burning Man. Period... I am not looking for anything 'free', I payed a high price for a difficult lesson last year and I don't feel that alone qualifies or disqualifies me above any other in the low income applicant pool...
I am simply investigating my personal options and would encourage anyone to do the same... I am not here to wail or rage my hardships, and this is a community forum, an appropriate place to participate in and become better self informed. Thanks for all constructive feedback. ~A

You assume all risk of death. Sorry to hear you suffered an injury and required medical attention, but just like everyone else being injured on the playa doesn't mean you qualify for a specially priced ticket. I've pointed you in the right direction for information on the low income program as well as the ticket support site (for frequently asked questions, or to send a message to the ticket team). This question's been answered in full, I'm locking up this thread.
